Chancellor of Xegony will report now if the specific even been triggered and not up. So basically she'll tell you if the Avatar is available to get triggered (Avatar been killed), if the event isn't up (it's been triggered and the 2 hour refresh time isn't over), or if you are good to go to try it (event up, Avatar available).

I would really like to throw this out, and i am really hoping its not shot down. So here goes. I was discussing with guild members and it almost seems silly to continue with contested Avatars.

Hear me out. I believe it was a great idea to contest for the avatars when PoA was the top tier, it made the top tier that much harder because not only did you have to kill these hard hitting mother's but you had to beat the other guild out. But now, now it is no longer the top tier, and to continue forward with progression, some of us have alot of back flagging, or keying i should say. To have many guilds who have killed Xegony before trying to hammer out these avatars to key box chars or new recruits, makes these avatars very hard to get our hands on, making progression that much further away.

Some would say, hey we had to fight for those suckers, suck it up and wait. Well the problem is that your making it threw that next tier and you might be hitting a wall that calls for more backup sending you straight back to air.

Making these avatars non contested doesnt make the fights any harder, and I dont see a problem with changing it, i mean the devs do want their hard work seen (VP,DS), not limited to the leet few.

There is something to be said about the sheer number of guilds currently trying to progress through Air - not sure what it was like when Air was just hte top tier - but at the least i can think of 4+ guilds who are trying to get these kills on a daily basis. None-the-less there does seem to be something said for either failing an event or finding it down during your guilds prime raid time, only to have them be up a number of hours later when people arent on... frustrating, doesnt necessarily need a change IMO but certainly something worth considering in the future.

Of course, pulling them off contested to instanced will warrant boosting the respawn time by (at the very least) double. Not that I would mind...

Maybe it's gotten a lot busier, but we never really had a problem spawning an Avatar. 80% of the time the only one that ever seemed to be down was Mist (assuming for the Symbol of Strength).

It might just be a bit crazier now with the release of Dreadspire and everyone rushing to get their boxes credit for Xeg kills. I'd give it a bit before considering instancing Avatars, but that's just my 2 cents.

Just to give you a clue how busy Air is atm, I logged on and checked status every 2 hrs today from 8am-4pm cst and they were always triggered or down. Could just be a busy day but man that sucks when you are trying to plan a raid for members around it. That and when Fennin is not instanced, it is so hit or miss. It makes raiding for those that enjoy the guild family interaction difficult.
