but was it ever called "combines" with an S on the end?
That's what it is on the bot list.
Wind of the North/South aren't Wizard spells btw, they're dr00ds.
And it's not that they're using the wizard spell names that is my point, if they were consistently using spell names I would be fine with that, as I know all the wizard spells, it's not like I'm some random newbie who has never played a wizard before (Note: Not saying i'm super awesome at them, but i've made plenty of wizards since they're great to sit around and nuke with and port since they're such an easy class to play). Spell names can be a bit difficult due to length though to type in, and most lack good reasoning as you pointed out, they're just some oddity of Markar's Relocation and other random words that EQ thought would be good for a name.
But, if they were using 1 system and stuck to it, I could live with it. It's the fact they're using like 3 or 4 different forms of naming conventions: spell names some times, short zone names others, initials others, or just a word they think helps represent the zone with no correlation otherwise.. that's what I have complications with.
Ro Portal takes you to north ro (bot list: ro). North Portal takes you to North Karana (bot list: nk). Evacuate Ro takes you to south ro (bot list: n/a).. EQ spell logic is always lacking. haha.
Using their system, why not make it nro / sro at least? Hehe. (My original suggestion).
But you can build on that and just use the shortnames. Short names are always unique, typically brief (some exceptions, but even northkarana isn't that bad), used on /w all lists, and even our old zone teleporter uses it.

It seems just right to me, no reason to utilize the others.
Though, I've already wasted a lot of breath on this topic that isn't that big of a deal anyways. Since most people don't really care either way. When you #bot gate it announces what they're porting to, and you can figure it out from that. It was originally supposed to be a simple suggestion, but I kept building on it, normally from replies, and now it's like.. really big wall of text.
And I bet there's better stuff to be working on the simple things like that, when the bot code is so fscked up right now it crashes zone erratically.
So, I'll shut up now about this. I think my point is now pretty crystal to anyone who bothers to read all the information I covered.
