Weapon augs in back slots? Huh

This question is prompted from the server update allowing the fun of the lord and anger aug (weapon damage + proc) being allowed in back slots...

Does the weapon damage added to the back slot actually help? And how do the procs work if put on the back slot..do they proc defensively or not at all?

I believe they are being added to back slots because of the epics being able to be equipped on the back.

Ah, would it be correct to assume the aug's lack of back slot was overriding the base item and not allowing it to be equipped there?

I was in a freak-AC mode and asked them to make this change so I could get a 10ac bump.

+Damage/procs have no effect on back.
