Guility!! Unreasonable Camps

Hi all,
From time to time I have gone into Seb. and when there was nobody else, or almost nobody else, in the zone and would pull, kill, loot everything I could. Now I don't think this is wrong at all, however, at times I did not stop or confine myself to a smaller area when other players came into the zone. Most of the time nothing was said to me, but at times ppl would ask what I am camping and I would tell them I am camping this large area, like from the main bridge through 4 corners to the Emp.. I owe an apology to all that may have tried to spend time in Seb. while I was doing this. As my guild mate, Oldschool, told me, "I was being selfish and was using Seb. like we use to use the Geo caves". He made a real good point to me that there was no other value to the Geo cave, but Seb. is needed for all players.
So, again, I ask all to forgive my selfishness and I will only have reasonable camps from now on, ie Emp. camp or 4 corners etc.. Unless the zone is empty!! lol But I have not seen that for quite a long time.

I do the same thing as well when it's empty, but when people are there I tend to stay in one area out of respect for the fellow gamer (this is the way things are typically done in SOE EQ anyway).

I do notice people, and it happens a lot, will just come into the area you're camping and just waltz right on in and take your boss and not think twice about it like they're doing nothing wrong and it's BS imo. Most of the time they are after HH quest, but people need to show some courtesy and ask before just killing someones camped boss. I can't count how many times this has happened to me personally since I have been on this server.

Maybe people will read this and realize they should ask someone before coming in there camp and KSing there named mobs or maybe they'll play dumb and keep doing it..

This is not the type of behaviour we like in THF. In fact, we discourage it.

You should tell the person politely that you are camping that particular area. They might ignore you even talk crap back to you and KS. If that is the case you should petition. Obviously you cannot call a whole zone "your camp" and then complain that you are being KSed. Sharing is key.

Let us know if this happens to you and we contact the person.

I have been on the flip side of the coin as well during my two headhunter trips. I would zone into an empty zone, proceed to spend quite a bit of time there keeping PH's killed and timed, only to have some one else zone in and either not communicate with me or ignore shouts/tells when asked what they need so I know where I don't need to be. On my rogue, in seb, for instance, I zoned in to an empty zone, then after keeping ph's cleared in the three upper sections for an extensive time I went to grab a drink and take a leak, and came back to see three HH nameds i needed flying by me to get pulled across the zone to what appeared to be some one's boxes. Now, who is in the wrong here? Me for answering the call of nature, or the other person for not communicating and taking advantage of (what was then) over 3 hours of camping for me. I'd like to think the latter, but frustrated as I was, I just let it go. HH is a test of patience when you solo box after all.

I forsee this being a continuing issue, especially if our server population keeps growing, but like GM-Micah said: "Sharing is key."

Boxing aside, you can really only camp one mob at a time.
If you are boxing, which most of us are, each of your toons can camp one mob.


As for shouting out in zone, I personally seldom see shouts. They are filtered to a window with a lot of junk. I send the person a tell. If they don't respond, I assume they are afk or on another toon. Common courtesy would dictate waiting few minutes for them to respond. But unfortunately that seems to be lacking in many people today. =(

All that being said, I have not had a camp stolen from me since I started on this server. It's sad to know there are some weenie-heads out there that won't play nice with others.

When I was doing HH I would raid invite the whole zone so we all got credit and I would take the time to buff and heal players trying to get exp.
