Great video Calaa, the ones Netharius is creating are hard to compete with. Really enjoyed all of the video's recently created.

Thanks guys. I wish I could figure out why all the videos I took came out so crappy. The stutter was awful, but oddly, I wasnt getting a stutter in game. I will have to play with it a bit more. My computer should be more then adequate for it.

Hi Windariah!

I'm very happy you posted a video! It's great to see more interest in making THF videos. I had the same issue when I tried to record a video the first time, what I discovered through experimentation was that you have to find a sweet spot between resolution and Frames Per Second when you're recording.

If you used FRAPS, my "sweet spot" was 1366x768 resolution (windowed mode) at 30 Frames per Second. The result will get you HD quality video which looks great on YouTube! What applications did you use?

Hi Harney,

I'm flattered that you'd say so, but I feel that the only people who can't compete with me are the ones who never try :P.

I really liked Calaa's submission, it the commentary was very playful, and even though they had trouble recording full motion video, using the stills instead gave it a slideshow feel, which I really enjoyed :).

Between the background score and the subtitles, it reminded me of the old slideshow's people would make and show friends and family after taking a vacation or something like that :).

My first submission was pretty rough and that transition effects/subtitles didn't come out as well as some of my subsequent videos, but that just goes to show that it's something that can improve with practice!

I think it's a great first try, and hope Calaa and others are inspired to make more videos for the server :D!

The more videos we have out there, the more attention THF will get and the bigger our community will grow :)!

@BosCo & Grey

Thanks! That one was the most difficult because I had to figure out how to do a combination of a PNG overlay and a transition effect on top of the video in the background to get the effect of pulling up the "Letter".

Of course, I also had to create the image for the letter with the troll stick figure and scribblings.

I want to thank Cheapness, The Master of Disguise again for his contribution to the video! He volunteered his time to play the Nekkid Troll and run around for an hour or so while I got different shots of him killing things in the swamp.

A lot of my videos start out as just an idea of what I want the end result to be, I've thought about doing story boarding to make them more cohesive, but that's just one more layer of work to add to the process ;).

I'd like to do more story-based videos with additional voice acting. I think I might get started on that after I shoot the Best of the Best competition this weekend.

I enjoyed working with you Netharius, it was a fun experience and brought back memories of me and my old guild making videos.

If you need a gnome in disguise again, or some voice recording for a video let me know. You can ask anyone in my guild, I like them cheesey voices in vent, because nothing says heal me like the "IT'S GONNA EEAAAAATTT MEEEEEEEE!!" Screech.
