Future of alt progression....

I just started the alt progression line and have to say that it is the most fun I have had on the server. I really enjoy the main line but there's just some thing nostalgic about the alt progression line. I would love to see a wiki for it and see it take me all the way to 70. My shammy is only lvl 6 but will not leave the line until its finished and takes me to 70. Thanks for the best emulator server and please keep up the good work.

PS why is it so laggy at times?

Hey Friend,

The mod and creater of Alt-P (ChaosSlayer) usually takes a few days to respond, so I thought I might chime in.

No doubt that Alt-P is a blast, but sadly, it ends around level 50. The plan was for another set of zones to get us all the way to 70, but the original caretaker no longer has the time, and no one has stepped in to fill his shoes.

However, I had a blast moving a couple of toons through Alt-P, and toward the end I started a few toons in the regular progression to see what I had missed. What I found was that after the final quest in Alt-P, I had a nice neck item, and a few underwelming weapons. Jump right into City of Mist (or guk) and pound out your armor quest. While doing so, picking up a new main hand and shield. Before long you are ready for Old Seb, and you'll find yourself glad to have the rings, earrings, back, shoulders, and belt, all the way to 70 when you're able to take down named mobs and replace that stuff. In fact, you may not even want to trade out the earrings as you'll have Burning Affliction III from Alt-P.

All in all, if you enjoy the ride, Alt-P is the way to go, and it's very easy to integrate back into the main line when you're ready.

well Atops pretty much covered it ;)

The plan was to run Alt-P all way to level 70, with adventure taking you to zones like Gunthak, Dulak Harbor, Hate's Fury, possibly few other places, and finally back to lower Paineel to assault the city of Heretics itself.
By the time the adventure would complete you would have been level 70 with a gear more or less equivalent to that of Seb/Valor, and a weapon which would sit just before Epic 1.5 in terms of power, as well as array of Unique items not found in the main progression, with unusual and helpful effects (as well as access to Drogmor mounts, Drogmor battle forms and even Drogmor pets ;) ). Of course trip though Alt-P would have taken a lot longer, and its broken into more sub-tier than the main progression (5 tiers were planned for Alt-P vs 3 tiers in the main), but as they say - journey is half the fun ;)

Unfortunately, as you people know, I had to resign my position, before entire project was completed. I know people were very upset to see me leave, and I wasn't happy that I could not complete the goal I set myself to do, but I knew I could no longer dedicate the necessary amount of time to make any significant work in any reasonable time frame.
Hopefully, Lillu will find another developer to pick up where I have left off ;)
