bear with me here lol

i would like to see the LDON point system used ( not ldon zones necessarily), example being say Tier 5 raid zone the mobs drop 1 item per kill buy award 50 pts to everyone who killed, goto the merchant and gear ( slightly lesser than the dropped stuff), example: if dropped is 600 hp the vendor would be like 580.

or perhaps a boss spawn mechanism, IE fight mini raid named to collect parts, turnin a part to spawn your boss (parts would be lore), but if enough pre-farming was done you could rack out 4-5 bosses in under 2 hours. just a idea is all

other than that i love the server.

I like the idea of LDoN point system. How about something like this:

5 Different LDoN themes, 5 different difficulties...
Northern Ro, Sand Elves, Tier 1 LDoN - Soloable.
Commonlands, Orcs, Tier 2 LDoN - Groupalbe.
Innothule, Undead Frogs, Tier 3 LDoN - Raid = ToV
Lesser Fay, Vampires, Tier 4 LDoN - Raid = Sleepers
Everfrost; Undead, Tier 5 LDoN - Raid = Dain for trash, Mirigul the lord of Chaos end boss...

Each theme would have 5 different dungeon map, Boss mobs would drop loot and spawn a chest. Chests could hold 2-6 coins (copper thru velium) worth various amounts to the LDoN vendors. Say for example you solo in Tier 1, kill a boss, chest spawns with 2 copper coins worth 5 adventure points each. But at night you go in with a raid force to Tier 4 zone, kill boss and a chest drops a chest with 5 velium coins worth 100 adventure points each.

So if really good things are available on the vendor, it will not take a raid member long to get whatever it is. And if someone choses to go it solo, they are able to aquire the item but would take much longer. Tradeskill stuff would drop across all 5 tiers...

Just a thought,

Aarcore

Tier 5 with dain for trash is a bit much I think lol, other than that it doesnt sound like too bad of an idea :)

Less AE ramp generic bosses, less content locked out.
LDoN is still being optimized on latest revision, so it isn't end of the world to not have started on it yet.

Not too many PoFire bosses AE ramp, thank god! lol. Theirs still a few, but compared to previous zone it's much better. I'm really enjoying the new scripts in pofire, although I think the Pyronis adds are a bit much...we'll see when we go with a real force. (8 frogs hitting for 3k each is not easily managable...)

We are working for a while now to implements custom Ldon system. at least Striat is working hard to enlighten me.. ;)

The basic idea is having a custom Ldon/adventure system, something huge. Instance difficulty based on 3-4 level ranges. Custom zones (not only ldon), and custom content. Group/raid adventures. You hopefully will see Striat's amazing boss fight scripts too in these instanced zones! You will gain points, and will be able to buy custom (and amazing items) from custom Ldon merchants. It's not a secret, that we will offer even artifacts for the most persistent adventurers. we would like to have a leaderboard too. if your guild wont raid, you'll still be able to group up your fellow adventurers on THF, beat a nasty boss in a hidden dungeon for a worthy reward, and have fun and challenge! and so on..

as a sidenote, we would like to offer an instanced hub zone for guilds (something like guildhall).

We been working on these for a while now, but just to give you an idea, Ldon/instancing/adventure system is quite new to emu, means there is no gui based editors or anything like that to speed up the implementation. e.g. if you want an instanced zone, you have to create the door where you enter, you do it manually, check it's coordinates ingame, put the sql entry manually to the db, triple check it, reffer to it from another sql entry and so on.. takes some time, belive me. but it will happen hopfully very soon. just you have to understand that we have other things to work on the server too, since our goal is "zone crash free" perfection. :)

Not to mention what sort of problems those nasty bots will give on crashes :(

Worst raid zone in EQ imo. It's so annoying once you've done it a few times. All the beginning loot rots, hell half of the zones loot rots, and the only stuff that you really want is at the end. You end up spending 2 hours killing crap that you wish you could avoid, just to get to the good stuff.

Sounds like you where talking about Vex Thal. Huge timesink for key to get in, spend hours clearing trash just to kill something with a name no one could pronounce...good times, good times...

PS - I would love to see small 1 group instances similar to the ones in MPG. Not talking about a huge dungeon like LDoN, but 1 shot deal with a long lockout and very hard to complete, like the MPG trials in OOW (People where always sending my necro tells to join them on the fear trial). They would have the ability to raise your base stats and resistances.
