Newbie here.

Hey guys,

I'm a newbie to the server. I found it on the list after being unsatisfied with the server I had chosen prior. So far I've been getting my butt handed to me but it's not on complete easy mode, which I like.

A few questions:

• The "THF" updater.exe lists two options.. either Titanium install or SOD/SOF install. I currently have the Underfoot client. Will either of these options work?
• The last server I was in had casters extremely gimped compared to the melee classes. Do casters get some love here?

Cant answer you on the Underfoot one as I dont run underfoot, but I do know that you need to patch some missing files from Titanium in order for it to work in some zones. I would assume the SOD/SOF is the one for you though.

Casters get lots of love. Enchanters are probably the weakest, but theyre more of a utility class, and I still run one as I love chanter buffs

Wiz's are still the king of big nukes, and there are enough mana regen items/aa/spells in game to pretty much continually cast if your not too trigger happy. Mages get nice pets and a nifty 1k ds. Whatever class you choose you will be able to solo with.


You can have fun with pretty much any class as you can allways make a bot to be a tank or dps or healer.

Ah, crap! Haha. Enchanters are definitely my favourite class to play. I might end up trying this dual-boxing thing out.. but I'm having trouble deciding on characters to play!

I'm in love with Beastlords, but they really don't take too much attention and sort of get repetitive as there's only so much you can do. I'd like to switch up the fight occasionally with different tactics and beastlords seem to lack that ability.

You can have fun with enchanters, just end-game dont expect them to keep up with wizards, or mages, or necros, or pretty much enything else dps-wise.

The donor charm is immense fun in 1% of the zones where you would actually want to use it, or you can swap it out for a double-cast buff i think. The rune/mana spells are allways nice, the debuffs help other casters, and mez is immense fun in the lower lvl dungeons like seb etc etc. Its a shame as end-game enchanters allways got the short straw.

For me enchanters was all about lower lvl dungeon crawling in karnors/seb/lguk/lair etc etc and needing an enc to crowd control on bad pulls. Once your enchanter hits 70 and your raiding, your Mez spell is pretty much going to be unused. In T7 they even drop clicky mez boots, so thats unlimitted mez with nothing actually to mez

I like my enc when im bored, but 99% of the time it just follows me around and buffs before a fight. Most unused donor char I have

The steam version of underfoot is missing files i *think*. Lots of discussion about here on the forums here and eqemulator. Might have to try and patch the missing files if you want to goto some zones.
