Progression question

Hello, new to the server and was hoping to get some advice.

I currently box a war clr shm mnk brd and bot rogue. Everyone has random drop gear and some Kael gear. Right now I'm just killing giants and kael. I'm curious as to what I should do next? Do I move into Kael named after gearing everyone? Work on 1.5s? Charm 3.0? Sssra temple? Or do I spend time in LDoN?

magelo Metha if you want to critique gear.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

1.5 first. Kael gear isnt much of an upgrade from chaotic imo.

For a melee class, Kael's not that much an upgrade from Chaotic. For a caster though, those focii are all-important. Or at least, were before the advent of t8 spells. If you got your T8s, most of the Kael focii don't work with them, and they're powerful enough not to need 'em. Kael's still useful for the extra mana/mana regen though, since those t8s have rather large mana pricetags attached to 'em.

Get your charm upgrade and 1.5 though - those are HUGE priorities, and they're a requirement before you can get into Veeshan's Peak. Once you've got those and can handle Ssra (if you can tank Kael you should do alright), do it. Get your Emperor Ssra flag and get into ToV, so you can start working on your Epic 2.0's.

Thank you for the responses. How should LDoN factor into this for me? If at all.

Not too much at all. LDoNs are nice, but they take a lot of effort to get something nice. I would recommend following what Nerva said. There are plenty of people willing to provide assistance if you're having trouble with the direction of progression or a certain fight.

Progressing through raid zones, epic 1.5s, charm quest, headhunter, AAs, key quests, solo aura, etc. There's a lot to do.

The thing to remember about LDoN gear is that, on its own, it's basically a template with pitiful statistics. The augmentations make it what it is. Fully kitted out, an LDoN piece feels to be about T4-5 in quality with the focuses of a T5/6 piece.

Compare: Sturdy Iron Breastplate + Glowing Pearl of Preservation with Powerful Metal Breastplate.

As you can see, it's pretty much flatly inferior to a real T5 piece. While it would be a nice upgrade from Chaotic/Kael gear, there's two big problems with that. First off, if you're in Chaotic with a bot in Chaotic, you ain't soloing LDoNs, even normal ones. If you're in Kael gear, and well-AAed you might manage. Despite what the Adventure Info NPC says, a "fresh 70" won't have much of a chance alone. You'd need to have a group or a very well-managed box team to have a chance.

Second, by the time you earn the thousands of LDoN points needed to 1). buy the gear, and 2). aug it to the maximum, you probably could've progressed and geared yourself through Ssra, ToV, and maybe Sleeper. Just the gear itself is 400 points a piece, without augs, and it's strictly inferior to even Chaotic gear on its own, with no focus effects or clickies to speak of. You get 25-30 points per normal LDoN, and you're allowed 3 per hour. That means, if you LDoN nonstop, it's a minimum of 13 hours and some change just for one piece. And that's not counting the 600 additional points you'll need to put an aug in it.

So... your choice of spending your time is "progress through raid tiers one at a time" or "scrape and scavenge LDoN points as fast as possible, THEN blow through the tiers, only to be undergeared come T4-T5." Honestly, I'd just do the former.

The only worthwhile things from LDoN are LDoN spells and the T6 glove component. Maybe you might get some of the high-end stuff that has double slot-8 augments in it, but you'll probably wind up replacing that in T6-T7, and definitely have it replaced in T8.
