Bird Bath eating items?

i just put my green mantle into a bird bath to aug it with a stone of sturdiness and it didn't work so as i removed them it said neither item was found and deleted both of them.
i've aug'd items many times, including earlier today, and haven't changed anything in my eq files at all so not quite sure what happened. Anyways, just wondering if this is a common place occurence.

P.S. btw this happened around 6am est on Lagg

try to log out and in and check in your inventory

i relogged to char screen and then totally out ...so far nada, seems like it was actually deleted...meh shouldn't be too hard to replace
