Swapping Login Servers

Post#1 » Thu Nov 15, 2012 11:39 pm

I have always used EQemulator login server to play on this server

Code: Select all

[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5999

I have just tried to swap over to Lillu's own creation :lol:

Code: Select all

[LoginServer]
Host=login.thehiddenforest.org:5999

It will not let me connect, it comes up telling me to check my connection. It works again as soon as I swap back to emulator login though.

Edit, I am using SoD client

Edit (2) The Error message is, Could not establish connection. Please check your network connection or visist http://www.station.sony.com/kb

Thanks in advance

Did you read the connection guide? viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3266

I'm guessing you missed registering your eqemu accounts with #setlsinfo?

If your eqhost.txt is correct (make sure no extra spaces in the file, etc), then something is blocking your connection to the server. Could be any 3rd party program. It's my only guess, sorry.

Yeah it seems to be a weird issue, I even tried briefly turning off my firewall but that did not solve the issue. The eqhost.txt I have been through with the proverbial comb :(

I seem to remember when I first started on this server one of my networked PC could only use Private login, seems the issue has reversed itself.

Thanks for your help though.

Can try to clear your dns cache and also can try to connect by IP rather than DNS name.

Code: Select all

[LoginServer]
Host=195.5.177.21:5999

Its sorted now, /blush and I apologise for wasting your time Lillu, it appears my short cut icon. targeted "everquest.exe" and not (as per your guide) eqgame.exe.

In theory it should not have worked with Eqmu server either but it did (bizarre)

Thanks for your time and help anyway.
