Crashing upon zoning

Hiya, this started happening about 1 week ago.
Im running:
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit
14GB Memory
Nvidia Geforce GTX 460


Crash when zoning (any zone), and i do the following:

1.Force EQ to close
2.Start EQ again, try to log in, but nothing happens 3-4 times.
Sometimes i get a server list, sometimes i dont, if i do get a server list i either get DB error, or manage to get to character screen, but not able to log in the character.
Gotta do step 1-2 a couple times until i manage to zone in.

I have attempted every possible solution i've found online:
1. Add: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start /affinity 1 to shortcut.
2. Re-installed EQ, and follow all procedures on thehiddenforest.org
3. Uncheck texture caching
4. Lower the FPS to about 30ish fps
5. Update drivers on video card, and run windows update.

Any more ideas? Anyone solved this issue yet?

Oh, also tried:

Running EQ as administrator and in compatibility mode.

One more thing to add:

If i log on in the morning (my time, im on CET time) when there's alot fewer players on, i can log in, and zone without any problems, no crashing or anything.

We'll have a reboot now, see if your connection get's any better once the server is up.

What client do you use? I used to get stuck zoning when I played on Titanium. My client would hang and the toon would never load into the new zone. With Underfoot I experience that rarely, if ever. If you can get a hold of another client, I recommend you try that. I theorize that the different clients have different connection timeout settings, and I imagine Titanium is less tolerant of latency as later clients are and is thus more likely to disconnect you. Maybe it's all in my head! But I can tell you that I used have those problems and have them no longer.

As for the server select issue, you could try the following:

Open a command prompt, type
ipconfig /flushdns

That should flush your dns cache which may hold some stale server data. That command is nondestructive, so feel free to try it with no worries. I really am not too knowledgeable on that part, but I have had success with that in the past (or else the issue resolved itself while I was trying that fix). Anyway, hope that helps

I am indeed using the Titanium edition.
I will try to get a hold of the Underfood one, and try the ipconfig /flushdns when i come home from work.

I will post back here how it all turned out.

OK! So i have attempted the following:
-Installed Underfoot client and did all the steps on site
Didnt work.
-Stopped all firewalls including router
Didnt work.
-used ipconfig /flushdns
Didnt work.

This much i know so far:
It works perfectly earlier in the day with fewer people online, i can zone faster, zones never crash.

I believe it crashes because my computer and the server arent communicating properly, its like standing in a small crowd earlier in the day when you can hear eachother perfectly, but then as the crowd grows larger it gets tougher to communicate.

Which brought to seek elsewhere:
-Deleted network card, re installed drivers
-Set the router back to fabric defaults
+Appears to work! So far no issues!

Still crashing when the server's crowded..

did you try another PC and/or another internet connection?

I havent tried out that, however i think i finally found the solution.

I removed Everquest by uninstalling it through Control Panel -> Programs.
And then i noticed that the folder was still there after uninstalling it, so i deleted that folder, and did a search in the register to ensure nothing's left.

A 100% clean uninstall and re-install looks like it actually may have fixed the problem.
