New to THF - getting client set up

I've been playing P1999 for a while, just something to pass the time and reminisce for a while. I am finding it tough to take it too seriously, as much as I really enjoy the old world content, and the people there. After logging in and out for quite some time, and continuing to see "The Hidden Forest" pop up on the server select, I finally decided to check it out. I'm an very intrigued, and really want to see what you folks have to offer. Seems like a lot of work has been put into this game.
So here I am, looking into THF.

Anyway, this brings me to my question. I don't have access to my old Titanium install, but I was wondering (and I tried searching for this through the forum, but didn't see anything), since EQ is now free-to-play, is it possible, and legal, to use my old account on Live to download their current client, and use it to play THF? Obviously no one in the Emu community wants to overstep legality in this. None of us get to have fun if the whole thing gets shut down. So I wanted to know before I make the attempt. First of all, is it legal? Second, is it possible to use the current generation of client to run The Hidden Forest?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. - As a small side-note, none of this is a big deal. I can locate my Titanium installer, more than likely, around the end of May. I just wanted to get things set up and start sooner. Again, thanks for any help.

As far as I know, only the standard versions supported by the general emu community will play.

http://www.thehiddenforest.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1763 is the official versions supported. I know that the latest live and steam copies do not work, at least not directly. The only way so far is to have one of the supported versions.

If you have a p1999 install, you can have problems, but you might be able to try and figure out which files have been changed and try to recover them.

Alrighty, I kind of figured that was the case. I remember from SoD how many problems there were for people trying to use newer clients. I'm sure I can locate the files I need to start playing, but it just might not be until just before the summer. That's perfectly fine, though. I honestly won't have a ton of time to play until then, anyway.
