Was looking through spell descriptions and I notice that this spell says,
"Envelops your group in an aura of spiritual dominion, increasing their mana and hit point regeneration." Emphasis on group! But the spell only does one target. However, the mana cost is more in line with a group spell.

Is this actually supposed to be a group spell then? Which I must say would be more useful.

All rk I spells are single only.
Oh the fun you all are going to have in DSK3...

I would like add to this and say nothing is less fun than single buffing all you characters at lvl 70. THF is supposed to be about making things less monotonous, like the hub zones, zone porters and special vendors.

Can the dev's review the rk.1 spells that are supposed to be group spells and hopefully change them back, as zRush pointed out there are already multiple exceptions. Below are examples of Rk.1 spells that should be group.

Paladin webtools/spell.php?id=9411

webtools/spell.php?id=9506
Druid webtools/spell.php?id=9242
webtools/spell.php?id=9239
Enchanter webtools/spell.php?id=9251

Pretty sure it's been that way since the spells released, Rk1 were single target except the big HP buffs. Damage Shields and other supporting buffs were single target rk1 , group rk 2 and 3.

I know what you mean, I have lived the joy and frustration of buffing myself with spells well out of my tier range... but atleast I could buy them!


If you want the group-buff then get your ass into t8 and start farming!!

I was hoping the devs could take a look and reconsider the initial decision to make the Rk.1 spells being single target, or open some discussion as to why they are that way. Rk.1 spells are already weaker than the Rk.2&3 raid versions and they typically cost almost 6x the mana to buff the group, a double penalty for lower tier players that have weaker gear, doesn't make sense on this server.

Examples:
Enchanter
Single Target webtools/spell.php?id=9257 , 1350 mana
Group webtools/spell.php?id=9258 , 1500 mana
Rk.1 takes 8,100 mana to buff a full group

Shaman
Single Target webtools/spell.php?id=9199 , 3000 mana
Group webtools/spell.php?id=9200 , 3200 mana
Rk.1 takes 18,000 mana to buff a full group

It appears Rk.1 spells were originally group, based on the mana. If the Rk.1 spells must remain single target than at least review the mana cost.

I reviewed all of the T8 spells from Rk I-III. A lot of them have been adjusted mana cost wise. Some got reduced costs in mana, some got increased. I based it all on the % increase from the closest pre-T8 spell.

Necromancers probably took the hardest hits mana wise, as most of their T8 DoT spells mana costs have been increased since the damage that the T8 DoTs do is significantly higher than pre-T8 spells.

I have zero rank II or III spells. I am totally in favor of rank I being single target and rank II being group. I understand the argument that buffing single targets is not fun, but that is a slippery-slope argument. The whole fun of a game like eq, where you never "win" and thereby end the game, is achievement and advancement. If you got everything available in the game at level one, because the struggle is not "fun", then you would never have a reason to advance. In this scenario, the change instituted to make having a level 1 more fun actually kills any fun in playing at all. So, the devs have to make a judgement call about where the line is between pampering to make the game fun and over-pampering which would ultimately make playing it worthless. They have done a great job in drawing that line, and this is a reasonable part of that line imho.
