If I use MQ2 to control an entire party or more, is that ok?

I read the post about third party software that says I cannot ghost, warp or AFK. That's fine. No problem. But can I use MQ2 to control an entire party or 2, as long as the above is not violated?

I want to say it was Lillu, but one of the gm/devs said /stick was the main reason they decided to allow mq2 use to make boxing easier for people.

Yes, that is mentioned here:

Please note, we still encourage everyone to play on THF without any 3rd party program usage (with the exception of the MQ2 /stick command) to fully enjoy and experience the content and it's difficulty as it is.

But the reason I'm asking:

We see it as some players come to eqemu to relive what they enjoyed about eqlive without the hassle of having to be in a top guild to do much of anything. With that comes them boxing and running scripts to make their time more enjoyable. For this reason we do allow players to use MQ2 or other 3rd party programs so long as it is not "over abused". The definition of over abused is up to the development team's opinion. If we see a player AFK macroing/ghosting/warping, it's obviously abuse.

I'm just curious what the definition of AFK macroing is. It probably means, my guys leveling up on their own while I'm sleeping, but they might consider it, me issuing commands from my main console to my other characters.

I'd wager it's not as long as you are doing something to initiate the action you aren't "AFK". Given we have a sticky that mentions eqbc...

Well I know there are a lot of us that control a group of 6 or a 2nd group of 12+ clients all from (mostly) a single client. Myself included. My other alts in my group follow me using stick commands, i tell them what mob to attack and when using assist, cast, and some pause commands. A rebuff command that has them cast their buffs and etc, etc. And I issue all these commands to the other clients from my "main" client using eqbc.

Mq2 with the right plugins and macros has the power to fully automate an entire group, requiring no player action at all. The puller will go pull mobs back to the group, the tank will taunt the mob off the puller and then dps assist and healers heal while you sleep. That kind of mq2 control over a party is not allowed here. You need to be actively controlling a client and telling other clients what to do via eqbc.

I know there is some grey area in this matter but thats my take on it.

Regards,
Sticky
