[MODIFIED] Help Santa Claus - Sergeant Slate

Is there any chance that you can break his roaming path so that he is static for this quest please? It's an incredible pain doing it on more than 1 char (12 in fact...) but I've also just handed presents to him on 12 chars using a macro and it's eaten the present but not given me the update coz he moved out of range again. I had tried to hail him to stop him but it didn't work... So I now can't finish the quest today
