I just added 2 more toons for a total of 12 and now it seems things are slowing down on my pc so I'm thinking of upgrading but I'm curious what others are running as far as hardware with two groups.

Share your specs, cause honestly from what I've heard of your system, it should be enough. Just it needs some tweaking, or a component is trying to fail on you.

Yeah, what spec are you currently running?
I used to be able to run 15 on 8gb ram (multi boxing is largely based on how much ram you have really) with main char on full graphics (master THf folder) and other bots on minor graphics slave folder (red stick men, no clip plane etc etc) which only use a maximum of 350mb ram per instance.

My new computer has 16gb ram but I still run the same set up with a master folder and slave folder as it runs so wonderfully smooth.

Yap, you're right... there's your problem.

really though, imagine most are running about what you are running. I'm only running a dual core 3.5ghz intel processor with 8 gigs of memory. 12 characters is doable but much more and it starts showing its age.

With my 8gb ram set up, I was running 1920x1080.

Why don't you try what I do and have a master/slave folder with your main char on the master and the rest on the slave folder following the multiboxing FAQ thread that is on the Third Party Software subforum. This should enable you to play 12 chars on 8gb ram like it did with myself. Before I did this it was a struggle to run 7, even on the i7-3630QM, 8gb ram & 7970M laptop.
