At issue: price. 8k is still way way way too steep, imho

1 million platinum (no measly amount) at 8k/symbol = 6250 points (12500 with a djinn potion or neck clicky). I'm unsure if the price was adjusted this high due to the amount that afk traders place them for in bazaar, or if the feature is merely a tool to allow the *insanely* rich to purchase their way into dsk3, but as a means of acquiring points to a "normal" player it's out of reach.
The idea itself is GREAT. It removes platinum from the server pool, thus increasing it's value regardless of what tier you're in. It makes the currency very useful.
I just think that even at 5k it's a tad too expensive. Is there compromise to be had here? Perhaps 3-4k?
Thanks for listening

Edit: The price set by players in bazaar at 8-10k per symbol (the normal over the past few months, excluding those who racked up hundreds and hundreds of them by running 18 toons/day through the xmas scavenger hunt) was set by those who had stockpiled these symbols by farming them from the bosses. These players usually have many millions of platinum, and the price they set them at (which became the norm) was based off their deflated value of the currency. Just my food for thought

More data: Each symbol equates to 33 kills in hoh. 3 people working in tandem can somewhat easily acquire 33 kills each minute, but lets say 2 minutes for the heck of it. From a platinum perspective, it's still far far far more effective to farm mobs than platinum, as at this rate you'd be attaining 8kpp worth of points per toon in the raid every 2-3 minutes. Lowering the price on symbols will have likely no impact on raids farming trash for points.
