If there are updates, do i need to download a new .zip file?

I am on winXP (but i just got a new computer on windows 8 too) and i was wondering if i need to manually copy those files every time there is a new update? Or at least "occasionally" for minor updates. Thanks.

If you are still using window Xp then yes. The zips are updated the same time that the patcher is.

If you are playing from the widows 8 PC, then you only need to download the THF patcher and run it. After you set it up it will download all necessary files for you each time you run it.
