Suggestion:

Not sure if this is possible within the server coding, but as you ever-knowledgeable developers have recently been implementing and looking at global loot code, I wanted to throw out a suggestion that may improve the server in my opinion while loot code is still fresh in your memories :P

I'd say the *majority* of guilds are simply single or dual person guilds, each person boxing 6+ toons. This is for a lot of reasons: people wanting to only guild raid by themselves or with a RL friend. People who can box 12 toons and do all the raid content by themselves and simply don't want to roll for loot that would otherwise go to themselves if they were just boxing the raids "solo", etc. It kind of creates a divide in the server for people who don't box.

My idea: an adjustment to the loot code in guild-instanced raid tier zones that checks for number of independent IPs and increases loot drop percentages for raids that have more real players behind the keyboard. Existing drop rates would remain unchanged for raids consisting of 1-2 real IPs, but for each additional IP the drop rate increases by some % determined by yall :) IE: the drop section off zithuuli that has a 5% chance of 1 of 2 items dropping. In a raid where there's 5 IPs in the zone, that 5% chance could be upped to 8-9%?

Not sure if this is even possible, and if it is possible if it would provide too large a strain on the server, or if it's even a good idea :) It was just something that popped into my head and I thought I'd post it here to see what was thought of it.

(this is where the members of Chiron begin wetting their pants :P) LOL

Tbh that actually sounds like a reasonable idea.

The ip scanning would have to take into account multiple computers in the same household too for those who perhaps live together or are friends and play under the same router now and again.
Unfortunately this would just encourage people who have access to multiple computers to just split their crews up over said computers and stack their winning chances.

However, something tells me that will be excruciatingly painful to code and would take the devs away from upcoming content, which we are all buzzing for. Personally, I'd rather see more content released quicker than a slightly higher chance at more loot.

Kalenyo and I play from the same household, but even so... it would be a worthwhile improvement over what we see now. If we had 8 or so people on a raid, having it count us as 7 would be better than being counted as 1, as the system currently does.

We've talked about this a few times in our Mumble chat, trying to find ways to keep our membership interested on a server that caters to multiboxing. In the end, most of us are semi-retired (including the founders of Chiron) until things change, though we doubt it will. Implementing something like this into the loot system would probably be too time consuming and the problem affects a minority of players on THF. Things that affect a minority of players tend to be put on the back burner.

Thanks for suggesting something like this though, Rude. It's good to see non-Chiron players noticing that there is unequality with boxers vs non-boxers on this server.

I'm sorry but there are no plans to raise the drop chance on the rares. <3

As a player on the other side of the fence who is just 6 boxing I say I would never have a beef with benefits for 'multiple real players' or 'multiple ips' as long as there is never a 'penalty for multiboxing'

Even I love teaming with other people or helping out when i can even if i am not as far progressionwise as others!

Loot is only rare for those of us that can't solo box T8 content. The rarest thing on the server right now seems to be players, despite rapidly developing good content and loot.

Does playing on the Forums count as playing on THF?

Yep, I guess it does! Afterall, when I log on to EQ, I just sit there and watch chat. Much the same as these forums. Speaking of which, aren't you also semi-retired?

Was that supposed to be a tag team to prove that he is retired or something?

Just FYI, some of us that solo box all of HoH and Valik in dsk3 doesn't mean we enjoy it anywhere near as much as when we do the same events with multiple guildies.
I much prefer having 1,2,3+ of out members with me as it adds atmosphere and chat to an otherwise dead /rsay.

My point there is a bit detailed really, but you're saying a lot of people who solo box t8 content either enjoy it a lot or do it solely to be solo. There isn't THAT many people who can solo box it all so I figured I'd let you know what a few of us who can, think when we are doing it.

Not my point at all. My point is that when guild raid end-game content is soloable by multiple players, then non-boxing end game players lose interest in competing. The playing field is uneven in the reverse of what EQ used to be.

As for the tag team, no idea. You lost me, assuming I was part of the tag team. If not, disregard.
