Donator weapon/aug dilemma

I recently acquired the Magician donator weapon, and the White Dragonshard pet focus aug, and upon talking to the donor weapon exchange npc, discovered that swapping between the two possible weapons will eat any augs currently in them. Looking at the clicky buff of Staff ofElements and the focus/clicky of Vurixn, The Angel's Insight, I'd like to be able to use White Dragonshard in Vurixn, The Angel's Insight for the weapon focus/clicky and +1500 spell damage from the aug. So, ideally, I would use the aug'd Vurixn to summon a focused pet, swap to Staff of Elements to clicky buff, then switch back to Vurixn for killing stuffs. However, as far as I can see, and its 4:30am so forgive me if I'm overlooking something obvious, my only option is to remove the White Dragonshard and replace it every time I need to summon a new pet. Is there another solution to this that I'm not seeing?

Put the aug in another slot (Back/Range) and don't put any augs on your donor. Your free to swap as much as you want.

Or buy 2 donors and have 1 of each

Ugh, I'm an idiot.. or rather I should go to bed, Lol. I didn't even notice all the slot types the Aug has. I just assumed it was weapon only. Thanks for the response!

Edit** I just checked in game and the aug IS, in fact, weapon only, but it can be placed in the secondary slot which solves the problem
