Feedback on the shissar tasks

This post is abit t8 pet related

First of all I think the shissar tasks are underrated. I dont think alot of people do them but I really like them and they are way more fun than LDON.

They are ment for a group and since I box 6 toons it suits my really fine. They are far from a walkover and I've almost completed the 3rd task. My gear is tier 4-6ish and the rewards from the tasks are good upgrades. Everything is fine and all...

But I think the quests were made when the Tier 8 pets were in full power. There are some heavy dps based fights in the tasks where you need to drop the bosses before they either spawn 24 adds or kill you with a DT like ability. Just before the nerf I got the 3rd boss in 3rd task down to 2% before he wiped me - that was a record :) now the chance is zip..

My prayer is for you GMs to look into the balance of these tasks after the pet nerf. Right now they seem impossible to do for the players who can actually benefit from the tasks. If you can complete the tasks based on your melee dps or spell damage w/o T8 pets, you dont really have a reason to do them.

So if you could tweak the tasks abit so they are doable again for the plebs like me, it would be great and more people should do this stuff! Its fun and challenging :)

Thanks for your time and a great game!

Out of curiosity, are you trying to solo these tasks?

Yeah. Boxing warrior, necro, bard, mage, shaman and cleric. Some of the fights are very interesting for me to handle and I do wipe alot :D

Most of the people I used to play with (Euros) are inactive at the moment so challenging group content I could throw myself at is perfect. I would love to group more but the player base is fairly low in my time zone and most are boxing as well.

Can't really add much to this, but I did play around with the 3rd task last night with just my warrior. Seemed fairly fun, smacked the trash mobs around a bit which took a little time as it was just 1 warrior and a fairly badly geared rogue bot that hasn't been touched since T5.

Had fun trying the 1st named that kept popping me out of the zone due to too many mobs, but as I didn't have any DPS with my that was fairly expected, and fun as it didn't end in a Death Touch that Vaion seems to throw in everywhere :)

I will pop back tonight and have a go with some DPS to see how it goes. I'm Euro also (UK) and I agree it's hard sometimes to get something going with grouping. When I used to play a lot I ended up playing 24 boxes just so I could progress on the server without wasting hours looking for people online. Boxed everything through to the T8 quest reaper (even though I died hundreds of times I still felt I was getting closer and progressing), then got fed up and stopped playing because the Rallos Zek timer was stupidly short and even farming bane weps for 4 weeks solid on every toon and still falling well short just made me want to give up. Even now very few guilds have that kill. Seems such a waste of a great zone. No doubt I was doing it wrong, and instead of farming bane weps for all casters/melee I should have clicked his knees when he shouted, or ducked, or something else that I would never ever think of in a million years.

Trying to get other people in your time zone is getting tricky.

I used to get annoyed that a 40k T8 pet spell could turn any fresh lvl 70 into a DPS machine that could out-damage any of my donor rangers quite easily and with much less risk. I ended up making 3 mages just because the DPS of the T8 pet was so good, so I can understand why they are adjusting them. It's just a shame it came months & months afterwards.

I do like the 1 group events, makes for a fun filled few hours, with limited resources. Much better than just zerging a mob with more DPS than needed. The hive queen LDON adventures in the back of the vale are excellent examples of how to create a 1 group balanced event. And the 1st 2 events of the shissar tasks are really fun also. I'm glad they move the NPC out of the back of the caves, as very few people knew about them.

Semi-Retired (Because Rallos Zek event just sucked all the fun out of it for me)

Are these the tasks from the NPC's in the vale who are standing in the tunnel that leads to drunder / aura npc's etc? One of them says something like "Novice task 1 & 2"?

Such a coincidence this post came up. I attempted task 1 last night after bypassing those quest npc's for months. I was going to post about it this morning.

I handpick my 6 to go in there, found a named in the sw corner and had fun with his unexpected gflux. I found another named on north side of the temple and I dont know what the heck happened.

I engaged him, he popped out a couple of pets very fast into the fight then all of a sudden all 6 of my toons were dead, the chat windows said something like 'Moruk was slain by Moruk'. I assume this was some kind of script where you are supposed to switch and kill the adds, but it just gave me no time before group DT. I honestly didnt care what the script was supposed to be I just logged off.

Moruk,

You are correct in your assumption that you are suppose to kill the adds. The 2nd boss's DT is triggered when he hits a certain HP%. If you do not switch to kill the pets before you hit that certain HP% then you will be DT'd
Oh the fun you all are going to have in DSK3...

Thank god for that spoiler ;) I gave the shissar tasks one try. Got to that NPC, did a little too much DPS, and boom, group dead :P At least now I know how to proceed! May give it another go! (someone should really write a wiki on these tasks.... cough cough :P)
