Disc clickies not firing

Last night I had 2 of my defensive discipline clickies fail me outright: they went on cooldown after being clicked but I didn't get the buff.

This happened with both Defensive Will via Rayin's Gauntlets of Abhorrence and Defensive Discipline via Ring of the Clawed Guardian.

Last night it occurred in Sleeper's Tomb on the platform where Sleeper is, though I've had it happen in ToV and WW as well. I do not have any other discipline clickies, only defensives so I cannot say if all disc clickies are affected or not. I usually use my click before I engage a boss, though I've had the disc "poof" in this way and when engaging in "surprise you got too close!" combat. I use a hotkey to click the Gauntlets and the toon wears the Ring. I'm not sure what other feedback I can provide on this that would be helpful but would gladly do some testing.

There are two scenarios, that I know of, that can cause this.

1. Clicking the discs too early. Visually, a disc can be complete on your UI but the game still thinks it is running. Wait a full second after you seevghe previous disc stop before clicking the next.

2. You have -forbidden topic material here- setting that triggers a skill or clickable spell (example, hate click on a shield) and this triggers as you attempt to click the disc. To avoid this, ensure this isn't about to happen by clicking during cool down.

I've noticed the clicking too early bit - I've since gotten used to waiting a couple full seconds before applying a second disc. Though I haven't needed to use 2 discs on a fight for a while. Last night this was not the case.

I have the SK ToV gauntlets with clicky Anger - I'll do some investigation and see if this is the culprit. I wonder if the times that I've tried to click the disc prior to engaging corresponded with self buffs going off or something.

Sometimes it also bugs when you are being stunned right when you click it. But it's true that most of the time, especially now with MQ, it bugs when macro is running and something else is happening when you click it.

Yeah, the more I think about it it's probably a MQ issue. It's hard to be mindful the moment it happens since it's usually right when I engage a boss. I'll update this post with my findings when I can make more sense of it. Thanks for all the feedback!

I do not run macros and run into the same thing on occasion. It happens if there is no buff slot free and I click donor wep defensive....or kind of randomly for other clickies. Maybe it's a delay issue but....I've learned to wait a little before goiing into a def click. So..IDK.

I remember there was a way to turn on/off a log on live... had to do it for DKP and stuff when I ran raids. I don't remember exactly what the command was but I'll look into it - perhaps it'll be able to provide some insight.

Just make sure you keep -forbidden topic material here- in the dedicated forums. The bosses get upset otherwise

The delay can really be quite extensive. Between defensive, I tend to over-heal and give it a good two seconds before clicking. That may be what you do anyway but, in my experience, if I cover both scenarios above, none of my clicks fail.

Oh, absolutely. If that were the issue I'd take it to the appropriate forum, both to keep the convo contained there and to make the info available for folks in the future.
