What coding?

A very simple question really. I was just wondering what coding language mq2 macros are written in, or whether the language is a hybrid / unique? I'm completely new to programming and wondered if there was a specific that I could try and learn from the bottom up?

Thanks :

I'm not going to directly answer your questions because I do not know the answers. However... Perhaps, these may be of use:
MQ2 documentation http://macroquest.sourceforge.net/includes/manual.php
The documentation is your manual for the language. There are some basic examples in there, but don't feel bad if most of it doesn't yet make sense. It will later. As you learn the language better, the documentation will be your best resource.

The next great resource is your peers and MQ2 veterans. There are great forum resources where these two can be found. There are some good guides here, and also at mqemulator.net. I would start here.
http://mqemulator.net/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=63

Find examples. Tinker with them. Run them and modify them. Make them your own. Break them and figure out why they broke and you'll start to pick things up quickly!

I think it's fun stuff, and hit me up if you have any questions.

MQ2 macro have their own language and syntax, not sure it seems like some existing code/language.

You can find some examples in this subforum, or here :

The core of macroquest is written in C++ if you want to dig in ;)
