Tested Origin on Exuro - 70 Wiz who was imported from Live - he went back to the Forest.

The character Renn that I selected Crescent Reach on I could never get out of the Arena loop. I just zoned into the Arena with no issues on another character so files should be good.

If I remember will try to find a zone that boots you the arena to make sure that isn't having an issue.

My focus at this moment is characters made after the code changes - those before are showing the correct info on /char (that is, two locations - which I didn't even know was a thing until earlier today).

I tried using the return home on Wilsmash from the character select screen... game froze for a bit then sent me to a 'server is not responding screen'.

Tried it on a character copied from live and she went to the forest np. The two others I have made on the test server have not hit the timer for the return home button - not sure how long that'll be - but when it is ready I'll *EDIT* make a new post because sometimes I don't pay attention to things.

Hoping to have some time with this one tonight. Worked on the augment returns this morning and ran into a couple problems that is making it a more significant fix then I thought. I was able to get the first aug slot to return though, so hopefully I'm on the right track.

Two characters made on test server:

Wilcroon and Imatest - both crashed when trying to use the return home feature. After logging back in they're both in the Arena.

Previously made characters (Wila, Wilus, etc) properly return to the forest no problem.

Any other testers have new characters made on test who can replicate this? Log in and hit return home at character select?

I have a theory (though highly ignorant of how things work behind the curtain so I am likely flat wrong) - when test came up there was an issue with people starting @ their legit starting cities (Shar Vahl, Freeport, etc.) so a fix was made to send them to the forest. As far as I can tell (by using /char) there isn't an actual home city / zone being set (because characters from live have *zone*, *zone* in their /char but my new ones only have *zone* - or nothing at all lol). I don't know if that is reflected in the character info server side - this is just a theory based on vague observations - but perhaps a starting / home city isn't being set correctly leaving an opening for characters to get stuck / booted under certain circumstances - like return home (and presumably origin aa).

Using SoD client
Started new character - Drast - Iksar - BST
At level 1 using \char bind point is Shadowed Grove
Went into Unrest - now level 7 and using \char bind point is showing as Cabilis East (note I selected Cabilis East when creating the toon but it zoned into forest).
Upon death it tried to zone into Cabilis East and now stuck in a load loop due to unknown zone - have to close game.
I do not have Return Home available on this character.

Entered in with another created toon Niperi - High Elf - Enc - selected Crescent Reach
First login went into forest
/char shows as Shadowed Grove
Zone into Unrest - /char shows as Shadowed Grove
Level up to 2 - /char shows as Felwithe
Die - zone to Felwithe

Tested on another new char
Brewa - selected Greater Faydark at create
Initial Login - Forest and /char shows Shadowed Grove
Head to Crushbone - /char shows Greater Faydark now
Head back to Forest use Chump - \char shows Shadowed Grove
Back to Crushbone - /char shows Greater Faydark again
Back to Forest - bind with character spell from Niix - /char shows Shadowed Grove
Use Elyse to head to Upper Guk - /char Greater Faydark
Die - zone to Greater Faydark

Tested return home on new test char Nitup - never logged in but showed as Shadowed Grove
Hit return home and client eventually crashed
Now char shows as being in The Arena
Return home is still available - client locked up when attempting to use return home

On NIix (lvl 70 imported from live) \char showed as HoH, Shadowed Grove
Used Chump to bind and /char now shows as Shadowed Grove, Shadowed Grove
Died in HoH and returned to forest
Tried using Adviser Tel'Qun in HoH to bind again and receive the "Binding your soul. You will return here when you die but /char still shows as Shadowed Grove, Shadowed Grove
Died in HoH - spawn in HoH and /char now shows as HoH, Shadowed Grove

FINALLY!!!!!

zomg i hate the heading code in binds..... this is now fixed! /cheer /happy dance /cheer!

*note- this will not fix the characters that are already "infected" with this bug. It will only prevent it in the future. Due to testing, there is not going to be a "fix" for those already affected. So if you have a char that was doing this please delete them or do not use them anymore
