wondering if the 25% boost would effect weapon procs as well, like would this be good for casters only or would it also work for melees with procs

Without being able to look at the code this isn't 100%, but from what I recall the % modifiers affect damage done in the specified element. So if you cast a spell that does magic damage it will be boosted by the magic % ring. my assumption (again can't look at code right now) is that it does affect procs since procs are simply caster spells but without the cast timers/phase attached.

How do the Worn 2 buffs work? Do they work like a normal buff so as soon as you have the item on the buff is in place and if you take it off the buff is gone? Or do they work like the short duration buffs and last for a while?

Works like a normal buff. If you have the item worn on your character then the buff is active. Soon as you take it off the buff deactivates. Some do come with internal cool downs which are described in the effect description (example: Adds 500% damage to next spell. This effect can only trigger once every 90 seconds)

So that internal cool down will only allow that specific buff to activate once every 90s.

Are worn2 effects totally broken right now until the new code merge? The reason I ask is I recently picked up the two pet dmg worn2 items from VT on my mage and ran some tests. There is no dmg difference in his pet whatsoever. Here is the process I used:

I started with these two items in the bank:
Lucid Bracelet of the Shadow Hive (http://www.thehiddenforest.org/webtools/items.php?id=122525)
Lucid Rune of Control (http://www.thehiddenforest.org/webtools/items.php?id=122719)

With those items off my mage and in the bank, I summoned my donor pet. Buffed him completely for maximum dmg and ran 4, 3 minute parses. The average of those 4 parses was 187,496 dps.

Then I dismissed that pet, equipped the 2 VT items and summoned a new donor pet. Gave him the exact same buffs and made sure all conditions were identical. Ran 4 more 3 minute parses that averaged 186,175 dps.

Obviously there is a margin of error for each parse, but looking at those sets, it seems like there was no difference in dmg wearing the worn2 items or not. There was also no difference in his max hit in either situation.

Even if the item dmg doesn't stack, you'd still be able to notice the 15% dmg increase from the rune.

There are (were) few broken worn 2. I have sent a list of them some months ago but since I kinda stopped raiding, I can't say if it's been fixed or not. But to confirm what you tested, yes the pet worn 2 were broken few months ago already.
I would tend to say that since it would have to be reworked with the new code, I am not sure that it's been fixed a first time to be refixed again after the merge. I might be wrong though.

I can confirm that there are a handful of worn2 items that are not working on live server right now. We have already debugged the worn2 coding in the new code but we (at least I have not) had a chance to sit down and test each individually. This we will probably leave for the open public testing since it will be easier for players to test this kind of thing.

These worn2 effects still don't appear to be working. Running the same tests as above, my pet's dmg did not change having the items equipped or not (all the way in the bank before summoning a fresh pet).

Also, my pet's dps has dropped dramatically since the code update. I can't pinpoint exactly what is causing the difference, but his average dps went from the 187k mentioned above to about 130k now. Are there still known pet dmg issues?

I recently updated my post regarding the dps loss since the big update and it looks like procs that fire from buffs are not getting foci and bard boost, i know next to nothing about the pet classes but this may be effecting the pets dps loss.

This takes affect on any Magic resist spell that is casted or proc'd. This does include nukes and dots.




Both worn2 Pet Dmg items will be working with next reboot. Got time to isolate the issue in the code. Turns out that the code was working properly for charmed pets and not spell summoned.


Went through and fixed a lot of the rare drop worn2's from Vex Thal that were either non-functional or slightly broken. They should all be operational after next reboot.
