Zombie Madness

The 25+ thing has been discussed before and those who want it removed have always lost. But it is fun to have tons of swarming mobs on you at times...some great high points in Live for me are when I have had a whole zone after me :D

So I suggest there be a few Zombie LDoN possibilities... someplace where you wouldn't annoy other players but you could run about the zone getting everyone on your hate list. Anyway would be fun, devs could limit it so as to not cause the server to get upset....maybe and LDoN zone with only 200 npcs or something.

The limit is more so for stability reasons. Sadly EQEmu base is not very “functional” when you start getting lots of mobs piled up. That’s why we limited it down long ago. It was affecting more than just the zone that was being pulled and was causing overall stability issues.
Oh the fun you all are going to have in DSK3...
Simon says.. touch the green one! Nooooo BLIQUE NOT THE RED ONE! zomg you just got me "Vaion Touched"!

Aye having tested lots of stability with these issues on live 1 zone pulling say 120 mobs is enough to lag down the entire server till it crashes. Even in todays eq we had to add a leash type function after soo many mobs being pulled.

Man, I would have never thought of pulling 120 mobs at once. I guess it's a good thing these kind of ideas don't usually come to mind lol.
I think Money Mutual is the best and worth checking out.

I can remember pulling most of Noble's causeway and Twilight Sea many times on Live. Nobles Causeway was a great place to run away from PVP and amass a huge mob behind you in some deep dead end canyon and then evac out just as an SK or rogue was closing in on my wizzy for the kill... of course most of the mobs would then turn on those that had been after me. Places like Twilight were good for AE spells and AE weapons etc.

Was fun... I know there are game mechanics involved and certainly I'd not want anything else to lag the server....yet I'm guessing lots of lag in places in HoH come from complex events. Perhaps simple models, simple programming would not make it such a drain...IDK was a thought...certainly THF is diverse enough as it is. There are certainly plenty of other things to keep Devs busy.

Well during RoF xpac mages could go into a zone instance which didnt summon at all. They then just pull every mob in the zone at once which caused mobs to lag and their running would glitch back and forth allow mages to beam kite them down easily to go from say level 85 to 105 in a single pull with prolly 500 aa give or take 100. So once word got out people made noob mages just to twin cast down the trains causing entire servers to crash etc. Which then leads to massive player ddosing them selfs etc. Was harmful LOL
