Alt-P Dead?

I've looked around, and I don't see anything at all from ChaosSlayer about further development on the project past early 2010. Has it really been over 8 years since he's done any work on it? If so, I guess it's safe to say it'll never be finished? I've been around for several years, but I only just now decided to give Alt-P a try. However, I noticed that NPC has been saying "only up to 45" for years(ever since I started, in fact). It would be tragic if the project was abandoned, and rather ridiculous honestly, considering all the work he put into such a great idea, to just abandon it is just stupid. But, he's not getting paid for it so it's not like any of us can really complain. I just don't understand why someone would do that. If you're not going to finish such a project like this, why even start it? Anyway, if anyone knows whether it's been abandoned or not, let me know.

Sadly I believe you are right in assumption on the Alt-P project. I do not have Choasslayers notes or vision and he has not been active in many many years.

I would be fine with finishing it out if I had insight into what his plans were, but without that I would just be taking a random stab in the dark.
Oh the fun you all are going to have in DSK3...
Simon says.. touch the green one! Nooooo BLIQUE NOT THE RED ONE! zomg you just got me "Vaion Touched"!

Well, has anyone tried contacting him with the information he provided to his forum account? I suppose it's possible he could have died or something(that would really suck). Anyway, if you can't get the info straight from him, then if I were you and wanted to finish out his project, I would take a look everything he's done so far in great detail, and let the storyline he's created enter my mind and bring me to conclusions of my own based on what he's already written. Once you understand the story so far, you'll be able to finish it yourself. Perhaps not the way he would have went, but does it really need to go specifically that way in order for it to be good? Just a thought. I'm no programmer, though I am a writer/artist(musician, lyricist, poet, etc), and I'm also a computer tech, so I guess I just have a general understanding of what you'd need to do to finish it.

As a programmer and coder i can say when things are created by one of us it is our baby our project our joy. When you have someone alter it then it is kinda a spit in the face to someones said work. Unless of course permission is given its more of a respect thing. Don't toy with / alter someones scripts or codes without being told you can do so. Even if he has passed away thats even more reason to not touch it as thats a piece of legacy of himself he was to leave behind. et us hope that is not the case.

Eh, the dude abandoned it and hasn't said a word about it in more than 8 years. I think it's pretty safe to say he doesn't give a shit about it anymore dude. I get what you're saying, but such isn't the case here. If he cared, he wouldn't have left it unfinished and went inactive for the better part of a decade.

Well some have posted he is active eqemu forums so perhaps you could try contact this person and ask for reasons and or if they would be willing to finish or simply ask if they could pass their thoughts down the line to Vaion to perhaps be finished one day. But most dont walk away from a project so easily my guess is he had reason as to why he didnt finish.

Maybe I will. I'm not a programmer(though I do know a thing or two about programming/coding), but I am a decent HTML web designer, and I used to code player sites for a game I played called Populous: The Beginning, and I've abandoned them before, when they were my own personal clan projects that either fell apart or I lost interest in. I wouldn't really care if someone ever picked up where I left off on those, because I no longer have any interest in those projects. No one could since I'm the only one who has access to the web servers and SQL servers I used to use, but still.
