I just want to clear one thing up though, and that is that I am not "bored" with this server. I've been playing here since week 1 of its release and I am enjoying it more than ever. There is so much to do even when you're in the final tier at this point that I will always have things to keep me busy, unless I played hardcore every day. Even if I do run out of things to do one day, the community has always been great and I could help others out. The issue I see you guys having is that you get into a cycle where you raid every day all day and then bam that's gone. It's not easy to transition from hardcore play to casual play, trust me.

One final thing is a response to Nigrog. I just want to say that I have NEVER seen you guys raid, so how can I say whether you suck or if you're good? Have I not been congratulating you for your achievements? Of course raids are easier with donator weapons, I mean your MT has 500 more AC than any other tank on his level could have just because of his donator items. You can't argue this fact, but don't take it to the level where I am saying that's the only reason you're progressing. One man can't get you through all raid mobs, raids are a combined effort. As I said in my original post, the main point of this thread was to shine some light on the grey areas (donator items), and that was accomplished.

1. We do not raid everyday and even if we do, not everyone is on, we do have a pretty large player base and harney/rawrs are sometimes online during like 3-7am int he morning while ther est of us are asleep(harney lives in a very wierd time zone) so even if they kill emp for the first time, we still have to get the rest of us keyed and flagged aswell which is what the majority of the weekend has been dedicated to.

2. Harney is not the only tank that has been MTing for us, we have killed stuff with Bumsock and Rawrs both tanking and those fights went fine and smooth. I understand harneys 500extra ac and what not makes fights a bit easier when he tanks, but hes not always our MT.

I completely agree with Lillu, that taking donations to cover server cost is an UNFORTUNATE NECESSITY of RL, and not because Lillu want to make a profit of it.

If Lillu would be a millionaire who lived of yearly % paid of his stock shares, then he would never be bothered with the funds that taking donation could possibly offer him, and he would run the server completely donations free. =P

..On other hand, if he would be a millionaire, he probably would have never played EQ and had never opened the server, cause he would be so busy counting his money =P

I'm all for donation rewards, but i think the epic questline should be best weapon attainable for every class. It kinda deflates the whole satisfaction with completing the series when you can donate for something better.

Edit: I don't see this as a huge issue either way it goes. As the difference is pretty marginal. It's hard to be objective on the matter, since i already got my 2.5.. But i have to say i'm glad i got the enjoyment of completing it before the donator weapons came.

^this.

Sorry, I realize I am new here and all, but this was basically what I was thinking about when I posted last. I expected Epic 2 or 2.5 would be better than the donator wepaon, otherwise some classes really have no reason to do the epic quest line. (Berserker, Pally, Sk, for example.)
It would still make it an awesome weapon, that would help out for many levels for new player/toons, without worrying about balance of the item as much. Would also make a questline not be ignored later.. unless I am missing something?
I understand donations are needed to keep the server running, so you have to do what you have to do. If I like it enough, I may even donate myself.. though I am thinking the neck (or augment) would be enough to help me out.

(Thread wasn't locked, so I figured it was ok to post here still. Not trying to cause further drama.)
