ROF2 Custom UI / parts won't load

Hi All,

Since ROF2 has been released i keep checking the client and finding something i like about it, but because i can't seem to customise the UI i keep reverting back to UF. No matter what i do, it will only load the same UI (the original default) and refuses to load any custom parts or any other UI as a whole.

My ROF2 install is the one from here.

Basically my process is:

Go into: D:\EverQuestROF2\everquest_rof2_THF\uifiles
Copy "Default" UI
Rename "Copy" to "New"
Download Interface bits from somewhere like EQInterface and place them into the 'New' folder, overwriting the existing
Go into game and either type, "/loadskin New 1" or go and load the same through the Display options.

No matter what i do, it loads the default without the custom parts.

If i move default to the D drive root and rename New to default, it still loads the original default even though it's not even in the folder any more. It's almost like it's getting it from another directory, however, when i go through the Display Options, it does show New on the list, so it looks like it's in the right place.

I even downloaded Muergan's UI from another post on these forums while i was doing my searching and that doesn't load either. It doesn't load dither the individual files or the UI as a whole as it just sticks to the same original UI.

I tried attaching screenshots of examples of what i'm after and what i'm getting, but i don't know how to add images and the attachments are telling me jpg and png files are invalid file types.


Anyone have any ideas?

Just an update -
The loadskin i mentioned isn't in the Display options, it's in General.

I found this file:
D:\EverQuestROF2\everquest_rof2_THF\UIErrors.txt

That seems to show the reason behind the failures. I've no idea what they mean, I can only assume the code on the pieces i use aren't compatible with ROF2, though I was searching for ROF2 pieces to begin with.

This also pointed to the reason of Muergan's not loading, which it does now, so i think the problem here is just incompatible pieces rather than a problem with my install.

I guess this thread can be considered Resolved, unless anyone enjoy writing UI pieces and fancies putting some together

oh i didn't read i see you found it not sure why its not laoding

It will always have errors because its customized and not every little piece is used. However it does load for me fine and operates normally.
