To be honest I really dont know the mechanics behind it.
With 8121 mana I just mana burned for 25890 damage (non crit).
I am not sure how to look at this, currently it seems underpowered because Ether Flame, a normal level 70 spells crits for 23k damage on its one and I am able to cast that about 5 or 6 times (not always critical of course).
Maybe mana burn gets exponentially better with better gear and a higher mana pool.
Either way, I still think reducing the cooldown will be the easiest and best fix.
Also, what are the chances of Wizards getting a super quick DD spell that does normal/average damage at level 70?
This would make them more useful on trash mobs and also able to contribute more when grinding in AA groups and whatnot.
As it is, after talking to some people, some casters are actually meleeing instead of casting during these situations, that just doesnt seem right!
