What if theres was 2 types of "tokens" since nowadays they are only being sought after and wanted for loot.

I.E. Bosses drop a no drop loot click chance for someone who has just helped kill the boss and the mushroom to pop up after death selling back flag tokens..

I just don't see tokens really getting used for flags these days and I don't see why people should should be able to buy end game rare drops with plat..

Sorry Beatboxin but i disagree with that statement, i honestly never used once a Token for the Loot chance, and the last Token that i bought was for Backflagging a new Character for HoH > DSK III.
Sure i could had backflagged this one character fine including T7 but wasn't in the mood to do the access quest after just getting 3 groups done.

And i considering maybe to buy some Tokens for VT access since now out of 19 Characters i only have 1 with VT access since i am working slowly on trying to finish DSK III first but for now stuck on 4th boss.

In Regards of getting rid of Tokens for Backflagging purpose, Maybe could go like a 75% - 80% rule ?
As in if the Majority of the Raid/Guild is flaged for a specific Zone/Raid be able to piggyback none flaged characters in who would get Flag for the Zone/Raid and maybe lower Tiers once they received the Flag of the final boss of the Zone/Raid ?

If i remember right something like that was back during PoP introduced to let ppl join at least Raids they had no access too, but this way could use it also for backflagging.

Also this could be maybe also used to increase social interaction between guilds/players where players join maybe at least temporary guilds for Flagging purpose which might lead in the end for em staying in the guilds.

I've said what I've said based on what I've seen since I've come back, this post was made to make tokens even more accessible for loot via plat.

I say its for loot because this same person has said multiple times in all THF forms of communication that they WTB tokens and or trading XXX only for tokens and only interested in tokens for rare loot off t9 raid mobs.

As stated I have nothing against tokens for back flagging they have always been apart of the server and can be very helpful for alts, etc.

Again I do however have an issue with this request to make tokens even more easy to receive without doing the work.

Not sure why or when (looked through updates) the change was made or why it was made to give loot or rare loot by clicking on a back flag token? I mean it is a back flag token right

There are some interesting and useful thoughts here. As players, we used tokens purely for back flagging and they're really useful for that. I think we've probably sold more than used however, which probably says more about their value in the player base.

When the tokens were changed to allow back looting as well I think this was a popular introduction. It's certainly used a lot (though I think almost exclusively in t9, proportionately). I'd personally never use this feature though.

My feelings about the tokens are mixed. Used as intended, they're valuable. But they're also used to pull new players past content and I'm not a fan of that (and there's no practical way to block that usage). It also suggests that the pathway for alts is... Long enough to make players want to skip it.

It's that part that I think needs to be analysed when considering what to do about tokens. Is it necessary to skip it? Wouldn't it just be enough to expedite the process whist widening the content pathway so that raiding isn't the only way to build a character up to tier 9?

I think these are questions we've asked and we've got some proposals that we'll run by the community officially at some point. But one main idea is to remove back flagging and change tokens so they can be used to effectively, permanently buff a character within the token's respective tier so they gain an increased chance of getting high value loot within that tier. This would rely on two features that we've planned; the group content pathway and global chest drops. The idea is twofold: don't force raid content on everyone who wants to progress to tier 9 but ensure everyone must do content to progress, just at a faster rate if they obtain enough tokens.

In terms of flagging for raid progression, there are some specific keying quests that are admittedly tedious to repeat more than a few times so I'd like to float some ideas around expediting those. Possibly allowing certain portions of the quests to be skipped via group pathway quests and with tokens per character (for example, ssra keys can be granted by handing in tier 1 tokens to an npc and completing a much shorter quest for that npc instead... but you still need to go kill the emperor which I think is a fun encounter and should never be skipped imo).

I think that every character should have to defeat all tier bosses to progress. That's just my personal opinion. But obviously they can be helped and gearing them up in the destination tier can be expedited significantly with the suggested change to tokens. So no more loot lottery but if you roll 6 alts and give them enough tokens for the top tier, you'll be able to gear them up way faster than without.

The group pathway I think definitely won't be skippable. None of it. In fact, it'll be gated by character rank (so you'll need to increase rank to unlock the next group tier). But if you cannot raid (or don't want to) then that'll be a fun (hopefully!) way to gear up to be raid ready so they can optionally join a raid guild later on without the "need to catch up gear" thing - this would be even better if the character in question uses some tokens to finish ssra/tov/vp etc access quests without needing to actually do all of that (but they'll still need to visit each raid zone and experience at least killing the boss). Group content will be open for anyone who raids too, offering more opportunity to gain ranks faster. The added benefit here is tokens of all tiers will have more value (no skipping to t9, every character will want more than 1 token per tier).

Anyway, please do keep discussing ideas. I quite like some of the ideas so far. We're some way off this right now so plenty of time to hash out ideas before anything actually happens.
