Nobles Causeway clicky pet quest guide

These pets are very similar to the WoS pets. There three of them. All are bazu pets but are said to have a sorta leaning or "flavor" to them. What this really means is that they all use the same graphics but provide different buffs. All the drops for this quest are prelootable.

Here are the pets:
- Bazu Caller of the Discordling, item 123016. An upgraded version of Art of the Feran. Fits tanks well.
- Bazu Caller of the Noc, item 123015. An upgraded version of Art of the Murkglider. Good for casters.
- Bazu Caller of the Ukun, item 123017. An upgraded version of Art of the Chimera. Good for melee dps.

The quest starts off with hailing Lannal the Beast Tamer.
- chat him, and he gives you the Journal quest The Taming of the Beasts.
- the first step is "Prove to Lannal...". If you hail him again, he will tell you how to do it. In this case, simply hand
him your WoS pet clicky.
- doing so completes the step, adds step "Gather items..." and gives you chat that mentions a leash and the items
he needs to make it. Another hail tells you to visit Feeb the Animist (who can be found in the Forest).
- the items needed are:
- Very Long Whip, item 122966. This is dropped by Slavedriver Menlo. His fight has some complexity to it but I was
too busy trying to stay alive to notice very much of it. The 10 adds that surround him did indeed come alive and
attack my tank and they did attack Menlo later in the fight like the google docs mention as long as you have not
agroed them. The AoE mez that I had my chanter spam throw, Wake of Felicity, did not seem to do any good. I
simply tanked Menlo with my sk while my cleric spam healed.
- Reinforced Chain Links, item 122967. Drops from dragorn refugees (the ones by Grinbar).
- Iron Clasp, item 122968. This is a ground spawn found in the back of the Slavedriver Menlo area.
- Feeble Bindings, item 122969. Bought from Feeb the Animist in the Forest for 10080 plat.
- handing these in to Lannal results in him giving you clicky Bleeding Big Bazu Leash, item 122970 and adds step
"Capture a noc...". He also continues his dialog, mentioning the zephyr and a noose and capturing one of three
species of trash mobs. What this means is that now is the time to decide which of the three "flavors" of bazu
pet you want.
- loot a Zephyr Chamber, item 12297 from the Elemental Essence Zephyr. This mob spawns in a normally empty box
canyon south of where the Murkglider School Leader spawns. To get the Elemental Essence Zephyr to spawn is a
small quest all by itself that involves five successive kills whose locations make a path from the Grinbar area to the
box canyon. Find and kill the Elemental Essence Breeze in the Grinbar area. This will spawn the Elemental Essence
Dust which will spawn Elemental Essence Current which will spawn Elemental Essence Air which will spawn
Elemental Essence Wind. Wind's spawn point is at the mouth of the box canyon. The google docs mentions these
Names using g-flux but I did not encounter this, however, the Names were successively more powerful as
mentioned. Wind drops two Chambers.
- loot eight body parts from the species that matches the desired NC pet flavor and combine in the Zephyr Chamber.
The result is the appropriate clicky:
- Discordling Noose, item 123001
- Noc Noose, item 123000
-Ukun Noose, item 123002.
- capture the desired trash mob by casting the Noose at it. I am not sure if its health matters at the time of casting
like it does for the WoS pet. Its possible that it needs at least one point of damage, or perhaps none at all. Or
maybe the caster simply needs to be within agro range. I did notice that it did not matter what sub-type (i.e. noc
sprayblood, noc uzurite, etc.) I cast upon. I did not try to cast on a Named, nor on a special unnamed. When
captured, the mob disappears from the screen and reappears as an item on your cursor, as either:
- a Captured Discordling, item 123007
- a Captured Noc, item 123006
- Captured Ukun, item 123008
depending on what you fought. The Noose will disappear from your inventory.
- Handing in the Captured results in Lannal giving you the appropriate clicky bait:
- Discordling Bait, item 123004
- Noc Bait, item 123003
- Ukun Bait, item 123005
He also tells you to make a calming elixir and this is entered as a step into your Journal. Another hail will tell you
the ingredients needed. They are:
- Blood of Insanity, item 123009. Dropped from Drarakon the Mad. I always found him in the southwest corner of
the zone. I don't know if he has a ph. Perhaps any dragorn in that area?
- Essence of Aggression, item 123010. Dropped from an aggressive murkglider. He is found just east of
Ridgerunner Drunt in a small valley. His ph is the various murkglider species. I always found him at the same
spawn point.
- Seed of Fertility, item 123011. Dropped from a fecund murkglider. I always found him just south of Gorovoth in
the valley and at the same spawn point. His ph is a murkglider.
- Source of Terror, item 123012. Dropped from Bazu Terror. Him and the Discordling Animist are spawn mates.
- These must be combined in a Crystallized Flask, item 123013 which is dropped from the Murkglider School Leader.
The Leader is spawned by killing Withering Murkglider. Ph for Withering is probably any subtype of murkglider.
Both Withering and its phs are in the same area as Drarakon. The Withering seems to always spawn at the same
spot. When the Leader spawns, 10 eggs will also appear. When combat starts, the eggs seem to hatch according to
a clock timer rather than mob health. The egg graphics will clearly show when an egg hatching and you'll have
maybe 15-20? seconds to kill it. If you don't, a white con murkglider nursemaid and a yellow con murkglider clone
will spawn. The nursemaid will just sit there without attacking and is easily killed. The clone seemingly agros the
nearest toon and is hard to kill. A heavily donored toon with a high dps has been known to be able to simply
burn down the Leader without worrying about the adds. Otherwise, the adds must be prevented from spawning or
else something (perhaps the nursemaids?) will increase the hp regen of the Leader. Each egg that does hatch will
spawn only one nursemaid and one clone. The eggs can't be damaged until they start their hatch sequence.
- combining the four ingredients results in Elixir of Serenity, item 123014. When handed in to Lannal, he goes thru
some dialog and your Journal gets step "Speak to Lannal...". The dialog explains most of the process of capturing
one of the bazu in the chained bazu area. At the end of the chat, step "Capture a chained bazu...is added to your
Journal.
- the trick to capturing the bazu is clicking the right items at the right time during the fight. While fighting a
chained Bazu, there will be three different messages that appear in raid-speak, i.e. they look like someone in your
raid is talking. However, these messages do have a short range, in that only toons close to the fight will see this
raid-speak. The first message will be the flavor-specific message that will indicate which flavor bazu you are
fighting:
- Arches its back and buckles down defensively = discordling flavor
- Rears up and beats its chest, bearing its teeth = noc flavor
- Crouches low as if preparing to leap to attack = ukun flavor
This can happen anywhere between 60-79% of bazu health. It can also happen more than once. At roughly 40-60%,
the second raid message will say the same as the first, but with "pulling at its chains" added to the sentence. At
this point, you have about 10 seconds to click on the bait. If successful, you will get the amber message in Main
chat "The Bazu goes into a berserk rage...". If you also get a red message saying "The Bazu ignored your offering,
its already been lured..." then it could be that one of your abilities (AA or whatever) caused a twin cast or that
you spam clicked. If you get noting...no indication of anything...then the clicky failed for whatever reason. Failure
can be because you used the the bait on the wrong flavor of bazu, or you're out of range, or this is a second
attempt and the clicky cooldown has not completed (I wish the devs would put a cooldown timer on this this) or
because it simply got bugged (and yes this has happened to me because everything seems to happen to me). At a
really low health...maybe 4%?...the third raid message will say "The chained bazu's uncontrolled rage offers a
moment of distraction...". At this point, click on the Leash and the bazu will disappear from the screen and
reappear as an item on your cursor. You'll also get a green message in Main chat saying "(character-name) has
successfully captured a chained bazu!".
- The captured bazu will be one of three types:
- Captured Bazu of the discordling, item 123027.
- Captured Bazu of the noc, item 123026.
- Captured Bazu of the ukun, item 123028.
- Whichever one you got, hand it in to Lannal along with the Bait and the Leash and receive the clicky NC pet item.
When cast, the pet will be a very small bazu.

Note that this post reflects my own experience with doing this quest. If your chat filters are set up differently than mine then the various messages may appear in different windows. Also, its possible that the raid-speak messages may be changed to a different type (like say Misc or Other) in the future. Also, the % health at which the messages appeared did vary wildly and might be associated with how fast you dps the mob. Its recommended that you damage them slowly to give the fight script time to do its thing. Once a chained bazu capture has failed, I don't believe it can be done over...just kill it and move on to the next bazu.

Btw, shoutout to the the author of the google docs, the wiki, and to all those that helped in figuring this stuff out. I simply fleshed out some of the info.

And, I forgot to add another screenshot...
