Ive seen other games like that where you get like, 10 tokens from the boss. The boss can either drop the item, or you can buy it from a vendor for 100 tokens. It guarantees you can work towards it, grind for it, even when RNG is not your friend. I really like that sort of thing. After 10 kills you've proven you can do it.

I guess with the token vendor fairy (i didnt keep up with the discussions / changes on that... so if she still exists) you already have an NPC that could sell zone loot.

The more i think about this the more i like it It could be looted tokens so keep it limited, and you have to choose "im working towards this item for this character" or i guess it could be awarded to all chars.. the same way god points are? Im not in hoh to know how they work.. but that would allow you to upgrade all your chars at the same time, so youre not in T7 with T2 geared chumps coughnotmecough
