Reaper of Mortality in SK (HoH key boss)

Hi guys,

3 things on this:

1) Is it possible to reduce the fail respawn timer from an hour? It's difficult to learn a fight when you have to wait so long between attempts. You dont have to with bosses inside raid instances, though i know it's common with other world bosses.

2) He randomly despawns when being pulled. A couple of times now, ive hit him with a stun and he's given his agro shout and immediately despawned. I'm hitting him with a stun on my tank before i run in, so its not a case of him agroing someone, one shotting them, having nothing on the hate list, and despawning as a fail.
This is extra frustrating when its an hour between attempts.

3) Anyone else at this stage and wanna team up? It's very fiddly to do solo... at least the way im currently attempting it..

Looking forward to getting into HoH and finally gearing everyone up equally

Hey, The event should reset in 5-10 mins most (IIRC it was shortened many years ago). As for the reset, if you could provide a way the reproduce it, it'd help a lot to spot the issue where and when it happens. Either way, will take a look.

I've looked into this now, the event should reset in 5 mins upon failing it (based on the event script) and at a random time (4-8 hours) upon success.

Could you please give us some more details on how it's happening? At what HP% did you wipe, is it always happening when you fail or was it a random occurrence?

This event has some special checks, for example if the quest starter is not present at the time of finishing the event, you'll get this message: "The one who summoned me no longer remains? I expected better." ... the event is considered a failure and The Chaos' corpse is also deleted.

It seems to be a random occurrence. I'm past it now so i can't test any more for more info, but was random... though seemed to happen quite regularly, maybe 10-20% of the time.

Basically the reset would happen immediately on agro, it wasnt a raid wipe and it was at 100%.
I would hit the guy with my pally stun and he would immediately just despawn.

It reminds me of when i first started out, came across my first perma rooted boss, ran in... the boss agro'd a squishy, one-shot them, and then because the hate list was empty saw it as a wipe and despawned. Same behavior, except, because i had this happen before, i always make sure to hit them with a stun before i charge in so i know it wasnt an empty hate list being seen as a wipe.
