Swarm pets

Not sure how well this will blow over with you guys but i wanna lay it on the table anyway just incase you guys think this is fair :P

First off before i start i would like to let you know that this is about all swarm pets (any non-permanent pet that you summon with a spell/AA/clicky or proc) not just the mage ones. lol

The thing with swarm pets is they aren't supposed to hit very hard, max hit should be about 50 dmg if that. (there is a major exception to this and i'll get to it in a second though) however what they are supposed to do is provide that 100-150 extra dps on fights and raids. Every little bit helps right? Well there's an issue =/ each swarm pet has 100-400 hps max. When you send them on raid mobs that ramp for 5k those ittsy bitsy pets don't even get to land a single hit before they're taking a dirt nap. It gets to the point where it's kinda pointless to use them even though their dps could be quite useful. You don't wanna make them invincible but you don't want them dieing before they can even hit once either. You wanna find a middle ground. Judging by what i have seen from raid mobs i think any swarm pet (anything from mage/bst AA pets all the way down to the little clicky pet from Chaosslayer's new progression quests) should be given about 15k hp. That's enough to last through 2 or maybe 3 rampages or a couple AE blasts on raids, thus giving them the chance to hit at least a few times before biting it, and it's not like they're gonna tank anything anyway lol

Now as for those "major exceptions" we have to visit a couple friends. Good old Beastial Empathy (Beastlord) and Raging Servant (Magician). These pets have the same hp issue as well but there's another problem. Unlike the other swarm pets these pets are actually designed to be MAJOR dps bonuses. Currently they hit 200 dmg max where as on Live these same pets hit for about 500-600 dmg max. They don't hit very fast but they're supposed to hit hard. This is evident by the fact that the spell costs 1.6k mana to cast. The dps to mana cost ratio is currently very undesirable considering i can do twice what Raging Servant does for half the cost using nukes =/. Either Raging Servant and Bestial Empathy should have their mana costs cut severely or their max hits should be raised to about 500 dmg.

There any chance of these things being looked into Tyler? :) What do you think? :)

you can also design swarm pets diffirently
instead of making them weak and lasting till they die, you can make them insanly strong but only lasting like 30 seconds. Such spell could have a reuse time of couple minutes so you can pull out an emergency boost when you realy need it.
BTW my Dark Swarm/Hammer pets are VERY durable
They identical in hp and dps to same level mobs. But they only last for 45 seconds

oh i didn't check those pets lol. My reference was my Host of the Elements (9 elementals for about 15-20 seconds) and my Servant of Ro (Drake pet for 45 seconds) which according to the allaclone both have 100ish hp lol

Speaking of the drake btw, quick aesthetic thing, it looks like a black drake, it's supposed to be red :P (Servant of Ro lol) Plus, Tyler would earn +5000000 cool points if he used the new drake model for it instead of the old one :P not to mention that would make it less frightening for my group members when i pop it in ToV (I know i've scared the crap out of Harney once or twice with it lol) but i digress XD

I just got raging servant on this server yesterday. So after testing it out a little bit today. Its completely useless. On live servers this is a 70+ mages most important spell line(besides a regular pet). On live servers this spell lasts 18 seconds, costs 1650 mana, and depending on your focus hits between 550 - 650 with up to 4 attacks per round. The pet was also a mages only source of CC, it came with built in super agro that made it take agro instantly basically. It was meant to be an offtank. On live servers this pet had nearly 20k hp, and enraged when low. All of that makes the 1650 mana cost a good tradeoff.

On this server, this pet lasts the same 18 seconds, costs the same 1650 mana. However, the max hit of the pet is 209 and it only double attacks. Focus effects do not work on the pet, or the one i have doesnt (minion of eternity). I took 10 parses of the raging servant attacking vlad and the average total damage done was 1566 in 18 seconds = 87 dps. 1650 mana for an average for 1566 damage really? on live servers this pet could easily hit 750 dps for the brief 18 seconds its up. It needs a major dps increase.

As for the pets tanking ability. I have no idea how much hp it has. But id guess less than 700 (he dies on the first hit of enrage to any mob in sebilis). I could care less how well it tanks, with regular pets being so much more buff than live servers, and bots available, this pet doesnt need to tank. However if theres a dps increase that makes this spell useful, its going to need hp's to survive in raid situations.
