First thoughts on HiveQueen

The zone ran real smooth, normally with brand new released zones you have pathing bugs and scripts not working correctly. That wasn't the case with this zone at all, I appreciate the developer putting time in to testing it and correcting everything he could find wrong. The zone is a challenge first and foremost, and it's a fun zone for sure. We had an issue with killing the mobs out of order ( I don't remember their names, but the 3rd and 4th named are actually out of order in how you encounter them when you're 'crawling' through the zone, so when we killed the 4th named we didnt get credit for it, and we had to go get a new instance in order to respawn it so we could get credit for the kill ).

Once we had credit for all of the named kills, the only task item left was the boss of the zone and we couldn't engage it, was invulnerable, I assumed this was because we either had named up in the zone or cocoon's up, so it was a bit frustrating to not be able to try and kill the boss, but was an enjoyable enough adventure that I really don't mind having to wait to kill it.

Good luck to others who try it.

Thanks!, Yeah sorry there was a location change on the named and I guess I can see where the crawl can get thrown out of order not paying close attention to the task so I switched them in the correct order in the task.

This should change instantly.

It may or may not wipe somes tasks out during the change if you are at that stage.

You assumed correctly, killing the 4 named is required to engage the queen but may not be the end of all your worries, ill leave that for you to find out. ;)

Easily the toughest encounter for 6 in the game, and I'd argue that this zone is more difficult than DS because you can't have a single weak char in the group you do this zone with, where as you could take some scrubs in to DS to raid with you to gear them up. I will be very surprised if many people complete this, as an aug that's 30ac and 100hp upgrade over pretty much any random poair aug just really isn't worth the effort required to beat this zone.

I'm not asking for any rewards to be changed (yet), because the zone is very new, but I'd be very interested in how many people beat this over the next three months. I feel as if I've got one of the best 'squads' on the server, and even with other t7 geared folks doing this zone with me, it was a test of everything between tanking, healing, dps, and figuring out strats.

It would be interesting to see how it would play out if you required completing this for t8 access, as you wouldn't really be able to push a bunch of newbs through ( or if you had to, it'd be 1-2 at a time, as you need a certain setup to beat this zone ).

One thing I would like to see, is that the risk v reward of this is held up, and it's not something that you can simply skip ( because all you lose out on is a minor aug upgrade ). If people are skipping it because the reward isn't on par with the challenge, please review the reward.

Thanks again for your time on this, I wiped more doing this zone in the 3 days I worked on it than I did learning any single encounter in DS, easily. Was very challenging, and very fun.

Thanks go out to Harney for letting me and my druid tag along with him when we beat this new adventure. Also big thanks to Mikuz for his hard work on the zone. There were some issues like Harney said but all in all it was one of the most fun things i have done on this server so far, and the reward was awesome too. I do agree with Harney though that the reward should be alittle bit better considering the difficulty of the adventure. A word of advice though, anyone else who wants to attempt this adventure better have one hell of a 6 man team to beat it heh.
