I entered the room multiple times with it only on my keyring. It is repeatable even now.

I did the quest for the ring. Entered the room the first time, and lost the fight. Deleted the ring after it was on my keyring, and killed the emperor a couple days later. Since it was on my key ring, I was able to enter the room, but the physical key had been deleted.

I was able to kill Emperor Ssraeshza with some help last night. When I went to hail the fairy I got a message saying that I have to achieve the ssraeshza ring first, and she frankly didn't understand how I got in the room.
