I believe the Shady Merchant is supposed to sell you augs for 100,000 HoH points. I currently have 163,604 on Morselmonster, but cannot buy an Honor Rune (Tier 9) as the Shady Merchant says "You do not have enough points for this item".

Here is a screen shot after another big encounter, I got the message twice after pet death, but this time didn't have a chance to summon a new one. Still not sure the exact trigger yet.

I was fooling around and seeing if a pet kill would trigger the message, but then I got swarmed and my pet died then I got the message twice.
