And it also looks like they DO agree with your comments that the loop is too inexpensive per ldon point as compared to the Symbol and will be raising the cost for those. Glad I farm air for those instead of pay for them lol.

As for the stats I think because it is in the casino as a Grand Prize that people feel it should be just as awesome as the weapons found there. I look at it as, some people play the lottery get lucky and win a million dollars, others get lucky and win 250 million dollars. They are both winners. Its a gamble plain and simple the payout is just different. Sometimes the reward you get for being lucky isn't the one you want. Ok, well sell it if you can, sell the LDoN points if you want and then turn around reinvest the money into gambling more and go for broke with something else.

I won one of these as a grand prize from the casino wasn't overly thrilled at first but realized I was still one of the few lucky ones who have won. Yeah I wanted the haunted blade for my tank and instead got a pretty earring (Blah :evil: wretch) but now i just play as much as i can and gamble when i have the cash. Who knows maybe ill win something else i cant use hehe or maybe i wont win again. That's why its a gamble

December 21 update included a lot of great things, let me quote that for you:


Some more details:
o Lucky's Gold Tickets are tradable!
o Whatever you win with Lucky's Gold Ticket, it's tradable!
o You will always get a new prize if you have already gotten one of the possible rewards (10 different items!)
o Possible rewards are: Platinum Adventure token, Powerful Haunted weapons or items as Horrid Neckbone from the recent Halloween event
o A Brand new item to win: Mask of Horror with a unique ghost illusion!
o Random common, uncommon and rare prizes including Golden Adventure Tokens and Miraculous Food and Drink
o Buy Lucky's Court Tokens from the Treasure boxes near the casino NPCs

Time to sell your rotting loots in the bazaar and make your fortune at the casino for some awesome rewards!

Misc Changelog
o NPC: Tunic the Tailor (near Dreadspire portal in The Hidden Vale) will exchange the Robe of the Azure Sky and Powerful Leather Robe for a more suitable tunic, mail or chestplate for the appropriate classes

If the symbol was intended to be the top item in LDoN, then why not just add the type 2 slot and make it so? It doesn't seem like a hard change and would make it exactly as you intended. Oh and while you are at it why not make the change to attunable, I mean at this point who cares if you spend your LDoN points to twink a box? At this point everyone just buys the tokens anyhow.
I love this server and those who run it, but sometimes I am baffled by the logic presented. I was asked to show the discrepancy on the loop by comparing it with augs, and instead of fixing what was obviously a simple mistake in design, a knee jerk reaction is made to double the cost of the Loop, which doesn't even begin to address the original issue. The issue is that the Symbol of the Hidden vale was supposed to be the best LDoN item and was included in casino because it was supposed to be awesome, but in reality it isn't awesome, it's not even bot worthy as it is.

Just wanted to point out that I'd gladly wear this earring long before I put it on my bot. I think you're over exaggerating a tad there.

I think you misunderstood, though, Rex. If they claim it's the top LDoN item, then that's what it is. If something (Loop of Kelethin) is pointed out to actually be better, then that doesn't mean they instantly need to change the symbol to make it better. They don't want it to be better than it is. Instead, they'd rather have everything else (Loop included) to be either slightly less or more expensive to balance it out. If I understand the tone correctly (and trust me, I've been on this server since week 2, I've seen a lot of changes) then their intention is to not further increase the stats on the symbol by giving it the best available augment slot (type 2). To them, that's asking to make it more powerful than they want it to be. I'm really unaffected by this, in the end, so I could be way off base, but I would honestly give it up , for now, and re-visit this in the future when more content is released.

That is a good point of view, its just that the staff has not said that.
Personally I only have two loops because they dropped while I was exping/farming items.
I only wear them because I keep passing / losing the roll on the ear/rings I want.
While the loop is a good item I wouldnt call it great and personally consider it bot gear IF you are a raider.
If you do not raid or are doing what some people have done in the past, which is farm LDON and buy the majority of their gear that way, then the loop is damn good.

Thank you Bloodmoon for your advice, but I don't think you see the point. There are a few different ways to fix the symbol either by adding a slot 2 or making it a 8/2/1 would do it easilly. The proposed fix does neither, all it does is inflate the price of the Loop thereby making it the top LDoN item instead of the Symbol which was supposed to be. I Pointed out the discrepancy with actual augs when Lillu asked for a comparison, which made the stat difference glaring.
It's really rather simple. The top LDoN item isn't as good, and changing the price of the loop does nothing to address this. Second was the promise that everything you get from casino would be tradeable so we wouldn't get stuck with things like this that we don't want.
You don't want to change the loop to tradeable thats fine. Remove it from the casino loot table and replace it with an earring that would be on par with the other items. This way you don't have to worry bout little Jimmy twinking his level 2 mage with the symbol, those of us who have dropped huge amounts of plat in the casino wouldn't get stuck with something we cannot use and can't trade, AND LDoN retains it's integrity (though I would really love to know who would choose a symbol of the vale over a loop of kelethin if they are relatively similar in price).

You bring up good points, undoubtedly. I completely understand your point of view my friend. In the end, however, it's not the direction that they want to go. My point is this: the intended stats on the Symbol are intentional at this current moment and the developers don't want to further increase the stats past it's state now. This gives way to future development of product with higher stats when additional content is released. My suggestion to you is to wait for further content, and if the symbol is irrelevant at that time, then attempt to have it addressed to make it relevant again.

One thing I'm surprised noone has pointed out, you can get improved dodge XI from the bloody skullcrackers toenail (4k point earring), but the symbol has improved dodge IX for 750 points more...
