Items w/ Disc Timers

Been running more and more into this, is there anyway that there can be a check against current Disciplines running when using items?

Example: I have Hundred Fists running, hastily click my Dracnid Skull Ring and it burns the cooldown on the ring without actually giving me the effect.

Also, shot in the dark. Is there any chance that Necklace of Endless Mind's XP clicky be target able? It was a great item for leveling and I haven't used the clicky since a week after buying it. It'd be great if I could atleast help my Alt's out once every hour or so.

You can trade spare AAs to many things at Zimbo, can even transfer AAs to alts with the AA potions.

I have done a lot of testing on this and here is my findings. This is usually just a graphic error, and 99% of the time even though its shown as greyed out from clicking it too soon, you can just click it again and it will work. This works on all clickies including epics and clickies that activate a disc. This does NOT always work if you click a "real" disc too soon, as you may end up really just locking out its timer.

To give you an example, I can spam click my power of fear ring as another disc is about to wear off and it will start the disc np as soon as the other clears. It will however mess up my graphical representation of the timer, the greyed out icon look. The seems to be 2 different timers, one for the greyed out icon look, and one for the actual clicky recast. If you click it too soon ,you will start the greyed out icon look, but since you didnt start the disc, its timer has not started. Once you do start the disc, the grey icon timer and the disc timer will be out of sync. you can let them get back into sync by just waiting a few extra mins after the item becomes ready again to line up the UI timer with the disc timer.

A lot of times when you zone the greyed out icon feature gets reset and it looks like the item may be ready even though its not sine the actual timer has not ticked down. In this case, the graphical greyed out icon will now start a new timer in which it will not appear to be ready until the 10mins or 1hour or w/e is up. However, the item will acutally be able to be used before that time. It will be ready to use when the "real" timer is ready, the timer for the actual item not the greyed out icon feature.

Hope that makes sense. TL;DR - just click it again a few more times, it will work, trust me.

Aye what Sticky is saying is true.

Not to long ago I added some checks to prevent clicky Discs from being casted while another Disc is running. While the source (the code we can change) acknowledges this change, the client code (code that we cannot) does not. So it gets a little weird and just like what Sticky was saying can happen. The item in the inventory may get the grey overlay and appear to have been casted because the client code believes that it was. However, you should still be able to use the item because the source code understands that the item was not casted.

I know that may sound a little confusing, but it's just the nature of emulated code/games.
Oh the fun you all are going to have in DSK3...

It's definitely not happening this way. I've reproduced it multiple times.

I'll for example have Earthwalk running.. Click the Monk Donator BP and nothing will happen. I get the Illusion effect but regardless of how many times I click the grayed out item it will not give me the effect after I have no disciplines running.

What client are you using?

Using UF client I just did the following test.
I use Minstrel's Gift Rk. I and have it running. I then click my power of fear disc ring while Minstrel's Gift Rk. I is still running. Icon goes grey and Minstrel's Gift continues to run. I then click off the Minstrel's Gift disc. I click the greyed out ring and Power of Fear disc starts running.

I thought maybe the donor bp clicky might be different so I did some testing on it too.
If i have Minstrel's Gift disc running, and i click the bard donor bp, i get the illusion buff and Willpower of the Jester disc overwrites Minstrel's Gift. I think it overwrites b/c in this case Minstrel's Gift provides a small chance to crippling blow while the Willpower of the Jester disc also has chance to crippling blow but at a much higher %.

I tested bp again using a different disc. This time i have Perfect Blades disc running. I click the bard donor bp. I get the illusion buff and the bp icon goes grey. Perfect blades disc continues to run. I then click off the perfect blades disc and click the bp again. It starts the Willpower of the Jester disc even though it had previously cast the illusion and greyed the icon when i used it while perfect blades was in use.

I don't have a monk or monk bp but if they are still on the test server and i get time later i'll try to repeat the example you gave.

I'm not sure if it's just the monk donator bp or not.. But those are the only items I have that give discipline timers and I can never get them to work like you say. Wish I could get Fraps footage or something else.

Is the Test Server down? I wouldn't mind trying some combo's there to see if it's just the Ring/BP

I recently had a similar scenario happen. First time I had seen it happen in a long time, actually.

Warrior defensive disc ran out, and I immediately clicked Ring for the Strong for chaotic defensive disc the split second that I saw defensive drop. It greyed out the ring, but didn't give me the disc. Waited about 3 seconds, clicked it again, and got the "recast time not met" message. 2 minutes later, still couldn't use it. I tried to replicate it again, but couldn't. Could have been a fluke due to lag, not sure.
