If these EEs are to be used in a certain upcoming quest, will existing EEs (that were 99.99% likely purchased from vendor long ago) be removed from banks/etc.? I think I might have a stack in my necros bank from back long long ago when the spell actually used them and was purchasable from vendors, and I'd feel a little guilty using them now

We should never have a reason to strip players of items in their inventory/banks. The EEs were put into the merchants when the server first started because they were only used in a handful of situations. Since that has changed that they were removed from the merchants, we will not be removing any already obtained EEs from anyone's inventory/bank.

So covet them/sell them, do whatever you want with them. They are yours
