Walkthrough

Often times, Crushbone can take you completely through to level 35 and so sometimes a new player may skip Paludal caverns altogether. However there are a couple quests here which yield some useful rewards. Gimmel's quest is one of those and perhaps the single most useful clicky on the server!!

Quest mob:

Gimmel is a Goblin located straight ahead from where you zone in at by using the THF fairy. He is at loc -3667, 288.

Quest text:

Gimmel says, 'Hmm, who do I see there..'

You say, 'Hail, Gimmel'

Gimmel says, 'Ahhh, a new miner! hmm, maybe not.. anyways.. whoever you are traveller, if you do me a [favor], I'll have something for you in return.'

You say, 'I will do a favor'

Gimmel says, 'I would do it myself..but kinda busy at the moment..well, umm...ah yes, clearing the dust off my boot..ya know..'

Gimmel coughs.

Gimmel says, 'Anyways.. some rumour says, there is huge old mushroom deep in this cavern. If you manage to find him.. he holds something that belongs to me.. so take it while you are there, and bring it back to me.. simple as that..'

The task:

Gimmel's quest is not a task, but your typical "obtain the item and give it to someone" quest from the golden days of EverQuest. He tells you to slay the "huge old mushroom" which is The Reishicyben located in the most Northern part of the caverns. His specific location is 2120, 787.

100% of the time, The Reishicyben will drop Gimmel's Doll which is the item Gimmel is desiring returned to his possession. To complete the quest and obtain your reward, simply turn the dall back in to Gimmel.

TIP: Talk to Zermin on the way (underwater just South of The Reishicyben at 1799, 313) for another related quest.

TIP: It is much easier to gate back to the forest instead of walking back. You did talk to Queen Adrianne and received your [reward] from her, didn't you?
