Walkthrough

Often times, Crushbone can take you completely through to level 35 and so sometimes a new player may skip Paludal caverns altogether. However there are a couple quests here which yield some useful rewards. While Zermin's quest may not be nearly as useful as Gimmel's, it still has it uses and provides the new player with a useful clicky.

Quest mob:

Zermin is a Goblin located in the Northern part of the zone in an underwater passage way. He is located at 1799, 313.

Quest text:

You say, 'Hail, Zermin'

Zermin says, 'Amazing! We can talk underwater?! Good. Do me a [favor] and I help you get out of here.'

Zermin looks around apprehensively.

You say, 'I will do you a favor'

Zermin says, 'Kill the giant mushroom locking my way out to escape, and I'll honor your favor. He has some guards, get rid of them as well.'

You have been assigned the task 'Zermin's escape.'.

The task:

Zermin's quest is a task simillar to Foolin's in Crushbone and he asks you to deal with a very unpleasant giant mushroom and his guards. The guards are "a recondite champion" which are found in excess if you proceed North from Zermin. Recondite Champions are approximately level 26 and comparable to the Orc Champions of Crushbone if you've killed some of them already.

After killing 10 of these Recondite Champions, your task is then updated and tells you to kill The Reishicyben located in the most Northern part of the caverns. His specific location is 2120, 787 and is level 32. He is much more of a threat than the Recondite Champions so proceed with caution.

After slaying the giant mushroom, you've given Zermin the chance he needed to escape so go back to Zermin and let him know. If you hail him, he will give you the reward. One much wonder though, why he wouldn't just flee South?

TIP: Talk to Gimmel on the way (straight ahead from where you zone in at by using the THF fairy) at loc -3667, 288 for another related quest.

TIP: It is much easier to gate back to the forest instead of walking back. You did talk to Queen Adrianne and received your [reward] from her, didn't you?
