Been here like, what four days? I was getting bored with other stuff so I thought I'd get back to some EMU action. I fired up my old EZ Server account, but upon logging in, I just didn't feel up to the 'grind', so I thought I'd see what other servers had to offer. I poked around a bit and found THF. Seemed polished and professional looking.
Was pleased to see the log in zone included some holiday cheer and quests! I quickly got a PC up and running and began the mission from Santa to hand out gifts to the NPCs around Norrath. After overcoming some snags (North Karana) I was able to complete the quest. By that time I did some levelling (57) finished my Crushbone armor and then my City of Mist armor, as well as some of the associated quests.
By then, I discovered I could do the Polar Bear prince Scavenger hunt and helped Santa's helper out by returning the Stolen Presents. (I couldn't get these missions when I looked earlier until I levelled up).
So, Feedback: First off dang guys thanks for the time and effort put into these missions, really had a blast getting these done. The rewards didn't matter as much as the fun I had doing them. Lots of love was evident. Second, please eliminate zone level restrictions. Let the PC decide if it's 'doable'. I've played EQ since the late 90's and I have spent countless hours with a low level character trying to figure out how to travel to places I didn't belong and surviving. What a challenge it was back in the Velious days to get a level one Wizard to Thurgadin, but I did it! Hella fun! Karana had been a problem to me apparently because it had a level restriction placed on the zone. Why? To keep me 'safe' I suppose, but really there's no need. Imposing needless level 'flags' on certain zones that don't require them is not necessary.
