Login issue - Error 1017

Hey guys - Lillu, Micah, the THF community:

Been away for about 10 months and decided to get back in at THF. Setup everything as I could remember, seen you have a new patcher [nice]... Anyway, setup eqhost to "Host=login.thehiddenforest.org:5999" and ran the patcher. Went to login through the patcher "Play" button and it loaded once. I camped out in the Guild Hall with Kurzesblatt.

I then tried logging back in about 5 minutes later and this happened...

Launched THF Patcher, clicked "Play," Login process went as usual, game began loading, Halflings were filled with pie, when it states "Loading World" -- Crash! Boots me back to login. When I try to login I get a pop-out window displaying - ERROR 1017 Could not connect to server, blah blah blah, usually temporary, blah blah...

Any ideas?

If you recently created a character, I've seen a character bug that causes a memory leak of sorts. A system with lots of ram can usually still log the character on.

If you get to the character select, then disregard what I just said.

I can confirm this isn't the character bug techspec6 mentioned. I suspect you are playing with Titanium client? If so, someone with access to UF client should log in your character and confirm if the issue. I've seen similar bugs a few times. Once you are logged in with UF client, you can switch back to Titanium.

But if you play with UF client, I'm out of ideas, other than you might have to do a fresh UF client re-install.

On UF client and I hava a CyberPower Fang III FTW SE desktop with Core i7 @ 6.2Ghz, 64GB RAm and Nvidia Titan Black GPU.

I did a fresh UF install and repatched and it worked. So topic solved. Thanks for the replies.
