Anyone know what may be causing my client to go at hyperspeed? Just built a new computer and EQEMU runs with animations like 10x faster than they should be..
I'm running RoF2 on Windows 10, AMD 7950X, RTX 3080
After doing some research, it appears that this is a problem that people have been having since dual core CPUs back in the mid naughts, and it was always fixed by setting affinity to a single core or something along those lines (I have heard of this problem before, but I have never experienced it personally on any of my other computers/builds, most with multiple cores). So, this problem was fixed ages ago, and I tried assigning only one core to eqgame.exe, it made no difference. I also tried adjusting the max fps in game and that did nothing. Zoning did nothing.
More on the problem itself: It's not just animations of NPC which go super fast, it seems like everything about the client is super fast. I move superfast and then rubber-band back as the server notices that I'm not where I should be. When I camp, the 30 second timer takes about 1 second. 30 seconds passes in one second. Everything is super fast. And, strangely, the FPS is like, normal.. my fps is maxing at around 30 to 40 fps, it's not even super high as I expected it to be.
Any ideas?
