Issue with new mission "The Key to the Temple!"

I jumped into the new content a little while ago with 6-box group to give it a try, killed western 1/3rd of the zone and found "Heretic Vzradna". Engaged the heretic and very early in the fight my entire 6-box group was all insta-gibbed to the message:

You feel an odd sensation as darkness begins to build inside you tearing its way out.

Followed by:

You try to punch yourself, but miss!
You have been knocked unconscious!
You have been slain by Kelban!

All 6 of my toons tried to punch themselves and suicided, no xp loss. While typing this out a guildie just had same thing happen on same fight. Is this WAI? I wouldn't think difficulty would be higher than ldons if vendor loot is inferior? Some feedback would be appreciated.

All of the Named boss events in the zones are scripted. They are not simple tank&spank stuff like LDoN or other group content.

The emote you received means that you did not do something that you were suppose to during the fight. Pay attention to what the boss does and you will figure it out =)


And the base loot is inferior yes, but after you complete the augment upgrades, the gear ends up a little under T5 raid gear. Let alone if you get lucky enough to get the rare dropped augments from the bosses, then the armor actually ends up pretty much equal to the T5 raid gear.

Like I said, don't be so quick to assume that the fights are all tank & spank with these zones. You are going to wipe numerous times if you keep that mentality.

I have been working on this solo and is I wondered if there was anyway to cancel or reset the 2 hour task requirement?

What I mean is, I had to leave the zone after killing the Scout, but when I returned the Heretic had de-spawned. Do I then have to wait out the 2 hour time limit before he will re-spawn again?

It seems as if the only named up at the start of the task is the Scout. Other named spawns are triggered by a prior named kill; Scout => Heretic => Vrakin => Advisor?. It also appears that if any mistakes are made (you wipe or leave the zone for any reason), the entire named cycle will have to be repeated.

That is correct. It was not intended for the tasks to be completed the first run through. Completing the events is based on learning the fights instead of repeatedly trying one fight until you get lucky. (I died here a bunch testing, fights will be common knowledge before long)

Question, is it meant to be that if you die you can't back to those corpses? both times I tried it when I went back to the starting npc he ported my group to a new instance. Are the corpses supposed to appear somewhere after the 2 hour timer?

The boss events in the zones are set up to be a "ring" style event. Where you start at boss 1 and have to progress to boss 4 without failing. Should you fail, you are required to restart at boss 1.

That is just the way that the zones were designed. When I started working on them, I didn't want them to be something that people just jumped in and ran to the big boss, spanked him around, grabbed the quick loot and bounced. I want the zones to feel like you have a mission/purpose more than just collecting the loot and getting out as fast as possible. I know the Grey mission is kind of bland, but I put a ton of "extra" special quests and tasks in the Ssra Temple mission to help the zone feel more dynamic.

You should be able to get back to the same instance. I will check this out. Thanks for reporting.
