I'm not sure if maybe it only updates once a week or so, but I have noticed that ever since the new forum has gone live, my character has not been updating within the magelo. Is this a known issue or does it update in intervals and I am just being impatient?

Normally it's up to date and any changes to the player profile is instantly reflected in magelo. Sometimes the replication is broken (this is the case now) and then the magelo profile won't be up to date until replication is fixed. It should be fixed now, thanks for reporting it.
