Active Antithesis Residue

Is there anyone that can verify that this is dropping like it's supposed to currently?

I'm sure it's just me and maybe my memory is fuzzy cuz I took a long break from Nobles...But the last couple days spent a lot of hours and haven't seen one. But my only toons left with the residue were casters so that could be partly why as i assume it's a melee base that has a % chance to drop it? I did have some company of a couple single players that did have it on their characters but still no luck so it has me wondering...

is that the thing on the wiki that's supposed to emote that it's dropped if the mob had been clicked w/ the antithesis? if yes - i've never seen one. i spent quite a bit of time there last week and the week before and have never seen an emote or had one drop. i assumed it was just supercrazyrare and i'm unlucky.

But why doesn't the item itself have a spell cast click? Makes it so confusing lol. Thank you Lillu .

I believe that some of the program code for it is not standard eqemu protocol. For example, when you look at the allaclone entry for the residue you won't see a list of who drops it. That's because its not dropped using the standard loot code. If I remember correctly, the various species-specific antithesis clickies are insta-cast with a cooldown and so the spell cast timer window will not appear. Again, if I remember correctly, the clickies will show their cooldown progress. I usually had the item as a hot button so that I could see the progress.

Just to add some actual lore to this, the antithesis residue is a trace of what happens when the blight is partially inverted. The blight is a power that is seeping through into our world via a split in reality that has been caused by the forces of Discord (lead by Bixt), who were attempting to launch a full-scale attack on Order when Ghillie and her sister Livi discovered the bore-hole they were intending to use to break through. The blight "piggy-backed" this bore-hole, causing the inhabitants of the causeway to turn.

The blight antithesis is an attempt to invert blight and force it back through that bore-hole. But it's not quite powerful enough to do that. What it does do is deplete what makes the blight so difficult to defeat. When killing a target that has been afflicted by the antithesis, there is sometimes a residue left behind and it's caused by the reaction between these two forces. It's possible that studying this reaction might lead to a more powerful form of antithesis in future. At least, that's what the forces of Order hope.
